i'm really liking the designs that are coming out in the urntc. some (like this one) have such an interesting look about then, that they actually appear quite cute :)

When is the buisness sector of Umhlanga New town coming up? they said they were gonna make their own CBD there? I have seen some plans about 4 years ago, for some nice towers that were going up there, 30 storeys & more

there wont be 30 towers mate, not at all. Its aimed as a mid rise town centre, that enables constant renewal. so the highest they will go is 15F, except for the Marriot site and a few more along the ridge, but thats it

Thats strange, I saw a design for A 30? Maybe they scrapped it

there are no big towers in the new town centre...on the outskirts along umhlanga rocks drive (like the marriot) yes. But none in the town.i prefer it that way anyway

The green hills do form a lovely backdrop. Hope some of that stays.

those hills across from the n2 are where the cornubia development is to take place. it is the new town centre x 20! it is catering for upper mid to the lower end of the market and aims to house 35 000 people in a mixed use environment

All the green hills will go. In the Durban area, there's far more money to be made from property than from cane.
