No, thanks for pointing that out  ,but i'm going to Tenerife on the 2nd of December to the 16th, so I needs to get things sorted ASAP.
So I would really appreciate it if people could keep a look out! :booze: slerp!!

Leeds No.1 November 6th, 2005, 06:33 PM www.leeds.gov.uk/nye was the site for last years new years events so...
SmartCity December 28th, 2005, 08:48 PM So, the big day is nearly here again! What's hot and what's not for NYE?
Simon22 December 29th, 2005, 10:17 AM Move on Up, Park Plaza hotel.
£25 a ticket but it was awesome last year.
What's not hot? Probably any of my locals!
Alexi Lalas December 29th, 2005, 05:43 PM the faversham have a few new local bands one that are hotly tipped for the new year. black wire and the sunshine underground from leeds and the long blondes from sheffield who are worth a listen if not just for the lead singer. we've moved on from the kaiser chiefs. in fact the NME voted the faversham as the cooliest place on the planet this year. no doubt the 'new yorkshire' brand will be less fasionable in a few years, but it's the first time leeds has ever had a scene to rival 'madchester' for instance.

Saw Black Wire supporting the Cribs earlier this year, decent band but not too fussed about the Long Blondes, sound far too much like Sleeper IMO. For a new Leeds band about to make it big, check out Forward Russia!
Can't agree that Leed has a scene anything like able to rival the Madchester scene of the late 80s as yet. Stone Roses. Mondays, Inspiral Carpets etc. If you take all of Yorkshire we've got the Chiefs, Cribs, Arctic Monkeys, Paddingtons with Forward Russia! about to make it big, but that's across all the Ridings. Whiskas and the Dance to the Radio crew are helping to make Leeds about the hottest city on the current indie scene though.
I found an interesting article on the Leeds music scene whilst Googling New York House last night (like you do ;) ) http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/features/story/0,,1559586,00.html
Simon22 December 30th, 2005, 10:15 AM The Faversham is the coolest place on the planet according to NME!!!! Were the voters all off their head on class A drugs. It isn't even the coolest place in LS2.
di Livio December 30th, 2005, 12:56 PM sound far too much like Sleeper IMO.
I used to have a thing for their lead singer. Never came to anything, unfortunately (for me).
Slightly pissed off by a few comments from the increasingly smug Guardian, but I won’t start.
