There was no render or tower's details on the board yet, but what else can you expect from DAR, certanly not a surprising miracle.

BTW, the site is almost fully boarded (still working), the site offices are build and the shoring contractor is "Dutch Foundations"

i have made this experience many times at szr, actually with every project which has started construction within the last 1 1/2 years

checked this tonight and i couldn't see any activity, too dark
but there was no light

considering the empty field for the render which will be put on the board, it's a smaller tower

the board will be replaced, expect 300m + :D

They have put on the board the name of the owner: Abdullah ??? Al ???. The last name could be "Rostamani" but I'm not sure.

I was driving so I couldn't look for long.

The plot on the right, behind the billboard was used indeed as a kind of storagge. The entire aerea behind the SZR towers till near the Galadari Towers was full of equipment and the aerea was boarded from the back road, and the boards had DIFX and Dubai Holding's M-power logos. Maybe they were building a District Cooling Plant there

I am serious Dubai-Lover, it is a G + 55 storey commercial, office & residential tower that will definitely be built at lot 336-208 SZR. The render above is true as well.

shoring and piling works in progress. Construction of foundation to commence in 1 to 2 months. No information on main or subcontractors.. What makes you believe that it can not be Dar's designed tower ?

Anyone driving on SZR should be thrilled! If you get stuck in traffic this tower'll provide hours of entertainment when wanting to kill some time :D

I AM thrilled when driving SZR! I think traffic in Brussels is far worse than Dubai though and that Dubai is not thaaaat bad. I think this is like every other big city in the world: "Lot's of people mean lot's of cars"

The biggest problem with SZR is that you NEED a convertible car to see all the towers otherwise you see only the lower half of them! I also found that over the weekend traffic does get a little crazy at times. I wonder why though. There is a 0 tolerance on drunk driving and most locals don't drink.

Whatever. SZR is really my all time favourite in Dubai. Actually Rose Rotana suites is my current favourity on SZR but once this one starts rising it will absolutely be my new fav.

Coming back to traffic. Do you think that whilst driving SZR you will be able to follow the maze in the cladding of this tower

Everyone has his own taste but what's so special about the Capricorn Tower??

The simplicity, the colour, the class.

evrytime you look at it you notice somthing new... like the wak the front of the builing is slightly angled outwards. or the perfect angles up the sides.

I checked out the site tonight ans as reported earlier, it was abandoned. No machineries or sign of any recent activities. There is just partial shoring work done so far.

I don't know what does it means.

The local/German Al-Rostamani Pegel (ARP) has been awarded three contracts worth more than AED 900 million ($245 million) in Dubai. The contracts cover towers on Shaikh Zayed road, Business Bay and Jumeirah Village.

On Shaikh Zayed road, ARP has been awarded the AED 500 million ($136 million) main construction contract for the Latifa tower project. The 32-month contract calls for the construction of a 55-storey residential tower and seven-level basement with a total built-up area of 155,000 metres. The local Dutch Foundation has completed the foundations package. The consultant is Egypt’s Conin; the local Archiplan is the project manager; and the client is a private developer.

ARP has also been awarded two contracts by local developer KM Properties for the Park Lane tower project in Business Bay and the El-Matador project at Jumeirah Village. The estimated AED 210 million ($57 million) Park Lane tower contract involves the construction of a 32-storey mixed-use building with a total built-up area of 64,000 square metres. Uruguay’s Carlos Ott is the architect.

For El-Matador, the estimated AED 200 million contract covers the construction of a 42-storey building with a built-up area of 55,000 square metres.

The consultant is Germany’s Kling Consult (MEED 14:4:06).

- The designers of the tower is a german office called Planquadrat. The office DAR is only the local consultant for this project.
