Actually UofT is right. Analysts say that next year Saudi is going to have a construction boom after the stock markets slows down. Developers are busy these days piling tons of cash in the booming stock market. Many people doubt that the Saudi index will reach 20,000 points. When the stock markets proves to be less profitable than real estate, then the construction boom will pick up to meet the big demand for office space and homes. Another factor is the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority which is working together with the Saudi Economic Council in finding means to ease up the investments regulations. They are trying to find out the reasons why many businessmen chose investing in neighboring countries over Saudi Arabia. The outcome should be very positvie.
5ala9 i talked too much :runaway:
Skoulikimou November 11th, 2005, 01:37 PM Riyadhi do you what is the height limit in KSA ?
huit November 11th, 2005, 11:23 PM ^ There's no height limit in Riyadh... but Air Force has imposed a limit of thirty-floors in a building. The buildings can be taller though.
Riyadhi December 19th, 2005, 08:52 AM APPROVED
Construction will start sometime in 2006..
Halawala December 19th, 2005, 10:46 AM Nice project what its shame the floor limit is 30 stories. The building is mostly empty from inside :(. But, maybe they will change the laws :)
Riyadhi December 19th, 2005, 12:15 PM The announcement mentioned 36 stories but I’m sure it is going to be alot higher. We’ll witness another Kingdom and Faisliyah towers scenarios.
HiJazzey December 19th, 2005, 03:37 PM Is this complex being built where al-3owais market is?

vc15nets December 20th, 2005, 06:27 PM Saudi Stocks Continue to Decline
Khalil Hanware, Arab News
JEDDAH, 20 December 2005 — The Saudi stock market continued its decline yesterday. The fall in major Banking and Industrial indices sent the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) plunging by 134.54 points to 16,735.68.
The Banking index was down by 382.34 points to 40,720.75. Only shares of Bank AlJazira rose by 1.86 percent to SR1,619, while shares of other banks dropped yesterday. Banque Saudi Fransi shares fell by 2.48 percent, The Saudi British Bank by 1.48 percent, Bank Albilad by 1.20 percent and Al-Rajhi Banking & Investment Corp by 1.08 percent.
Drop in Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) shares dragged the Industrial index lower by 923.89 points to close at 41,784.60. SABIC shares fell by 3.18 percent to SR1,642 despite the board of directors’ decision on Sunday to recommend SR6 billion in dividends to the shareholders for the second half of the year for SR15 per share.
Shares of other major companies such as Zamil Industrial Investment Co., Saudi Industrial Development Co., Sahara Petrochemical and Almarai Co. also edged lower yesterday.
However, in the Industrial sector shares of Saudi Arabia Refineries Co. jumped 9.99 percent to SR3,766.50, Filling & Packing Materials Manufacturing Co. by 6.42 percent to SR580, Arabian Industrial Development Co. by 4.18 percent to SR548 and Savola Group by 2.75 percent to SR1,243.25.
The cement sector made handsome gains. Shares of Yanbu Cement soared 9.98 percent to SR752.25, Arab Cement Co. by 9.76 percent to SR919.75, Yamamah Cement by 4.58 percent to SR2,236 and Tabuk Cement by 4.43 percent to SR583.75.
The Services sector index was also higher yesterday as shares of Arriyadh Development Co. climbed 9.97 percent to SR430, Aseer Trading, Tourism & Manufacturing Co. by 8.45 percent to SR1,116.75, Saudi Automotive Services Co. by 8.33 percent to SR686 and Saudi Public Transport Co. by 7.62 percent to SR349.75.
Shares of Saudi Telecom Co. and Etihad Etisalat rose to SR945 and SR701.25, respectively.
Saudi Electricity Co. shares gained slightly at SR138.75.
The Agriculture Index suffered 162.79 points fall to 7,651 as shares of all companies declined except Saudi Fisheries. Its shares jumped 9.97 percent to SR424.50.
Over SR29 billion worth of shares changed hands yesterday.
If the stock market continues its decline, then as Riyadhi said, we will witness a Saudi construction boom.
vc15nets December 20th, 2005, 06:28 PM I think that the King Abdullah Economic City signals the start of this boom.
Riyadhi December 20th, 2005, 06:32 PM Is this complex being built where al-3owais market is?

LeB.Fr May 11th, 2008, 09:15 PM There is nothing under construction North of Al 3owais :(
VETTEC May 12th, 2008, 01:35 PM Does Al Rajhi own all of the main commercial plots in North of Riyadh??
For the render we can only see 2 towers, thats a shame because thats a huge plot of land, i think they can come up with better use of its space and try to creat a mixed use development, some nice resedential towers would be great, they should also make it pedestiran friendly and maybe tie it up with a pedistrian bridge or tunnel to King Abduallah financial zone.
XP May 12th, 2008, 02:33 PM WOW!!
After three years of sleep this project is reborn again... Nice..
