Height: 588 Feet
Built: 1988
One Wachovia Center surpassed Charlotte's Bank of America Plaza as the tallest building in the Carolinas when it was built in 1988. Only 4 years later, Bank of America reclaimed the title when Bank of America Tower was built. It is now the 3rd tallest building in Charlotte behind Bank of America Tower and Hearst Tower. I personally think it's a beautiful building that is overshadowed by its taller competition.

I like the generous use of glass, but from the side it seems too blocky. It needs to slim down more near the top.

Lmichigan July 21st, 2003, 07:57 PM It's a nice filler tower, with great colors and form, but it's nothing spectacular. To me it looks a little cheap, but it works with what it was given quite well.
