At first I also thought these designs are just visions, but due to the near complrtion of Kuta Galeria in Bali, I assume these rendering are actually projects on proposal, some were actually approved like the Riverside Development in Borneo.

I bought a Minicompo (cd/casette player and radio) AIWA in Jkt in '96 (GOSH it's already 9 years) and still works fine till now. It's one thing that always accompany me wherever I live (4 countries already, geez I just realized it now)

good dvd qualities mate.. dont worry.. u just gotta know where to buy and make sure u test it first..
hey I've got an AIWA brand stereo as well at home.. it's been ther since I was like in primary 5... agess agooo.. and it still works fine.. ahhaha

Taman palem is already open a long time ago I think (2003/2004) its after Rumah Sakit Medika Permata Hijau

With several large retail construction projects nearing completion, Jakarta will see more shopping spaces by the end of 2005, a property consultant says.

According to a report by Coldwell Banker Commercial (CBC), there will be more than 300,000 square meters (sqm) of new leasable retail spaces after five new malls in the capital are finished.

The five new areas are Senayan Park Center and Sudirman Place in South Jakarta, Kelapa Gading Square and Taman Palem Mall in North Jakarta and Grand Indonesia in Central Jakarta.

The Grand Indonesia mall is being built on the former site of the Inna Wisata Hotel, while the historic Hotel Indonesia is under renovation and will become a boutique hotel owned by PT Cipta Karya Bumi Indah, a subsidiary of the country's third-largest cigarette maker, PT Djarum.

In this year's third quarter alone, there were 138,925 sqm of leasable retail space delivered to the market with an occupancy rate of 97.5 percent for well-located space and 90.8 percent for those in secondary locations.

CBC estimated that during the next three years, there would be 1.4 million sqm of stock for leasable retail space.

Meanwhile, for the strata-titled sub sector, there would be a new supply of 412,500 sqm by the end of this year.

The new supply would come from the completion of Taman Palem Mall and Mega Glodok in North Jakarta, Lindeteves Trade Center and Gajah Mada Square in Kota, West Jakarta, as well as Pasar Cibubur and Cibubur Point in East Jakarta.

With the recent economic downturn, characterized by soaring inflation of 15.56 percent for the past 10 months -- occupancy rate in this sub-sector is estimated to decline.

Last week, the Indonesian Retail Merchants Association (Aprindo) reported that small and medium retailers were hit hard as prices of electricity went up.

This was a contrast from the bullish trend CBC reported in this year's third quarter, when some 163,890 sqm of strata-titled retail accommodation was sold, an increase of more than three times on the second quarter.

During the July-September period, a new supply of 187,667 sqm of strata-titled retail space entered the market, contributed by the Tanah Abang Blok A project and nearby Jakarta City Center in Central Jakarta, as well as Cibubur Junction Mall in East Jakarta.

Several property players earlier reported an increase in selling prices of between 10 and 20 percent due to the average 129 percent hike in fuel prices.

"Absorption of retail space will always depend on the location. Those in well-located areas will continue to enjoy stable growth while those in secondary locations, especially for strata-title retail space, might experience a decline," property analyst Panangian Simanungkalit said.

Gua lagi ke PS (my shopping destination lah kalo di JKT) my grandma, sister, mother pada liat baju2 (nggak interested) jadi rencana mau beli Crayon Shinchan comic :D buat baca

Tempat Paling deket buat beli Comic nya yah di Hero Supermarket. Udah deh masuk ke Hero beli Rp 9.500 trus rencana balik ke tempat baju tadi

Ehh waktu mau naik escalator (di depan tempat p erbaikan sepatu) ada 2 Orang model bengis and big stopped me.

Both of them said : Eiittit Adik berhenti ! ( Gua tau mrk ngomong sama gua so I just cuek and trying to go escalator)

they said that Mereka lagi cari anak yg tinggi untuk bisa main basket (Chinese type one lah)

So i said I can't play basketball

then mereka bilang lagi oh gak bisa ngga papa kita ajaring ko (kaya maksa) somemore they wanted to bring me ke Mobil mereka (Jeep type)!!

When i try to go up to escalator they Pull ! me !!!

so i just said them that I'm going to airport now Emergency and push them away and Run!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I know why they are wanted to kidnapped soalnya (dari cara ngomong mereka itu dah ketauan lah palsu punya and somemore they're maksa!!

New mall offers outdoor sports

BOGOR: Developer PT Bellanova Country Mall is introducing a new concept of a mall, combining shopping with outdoor sports, in South Sentul outside of Bogor.

Located near an exit of the Jagorawi toll road, the mall, which is slated to open early next year, will occupy an area of 4.6 hectares and will have outdoor sports facilities such as canoeing, horse riding, wall climbing and cycling.

"We aim to become a destination mall, where people come especially for the shopping, food and fun outdoor activities," marketing manager Felix S. Hasamin said on Thursday.

Some 350,000 vehicles pass by the site of the mall on the Jagorawi toll road each day, making it an ideal place to transit, PT Lippo Karawaci director Ninik P. Nathan, who is the marketing agent, said.

Access to the mall will become easier when the ongoing construction of the Bogor Ring Road is completed next year.

"We have sold 60 percent of the shop-houses and kiosks, and we expect all to be fully operational by the time we open in May 2006," Felix said. -- JP

I was in Jakarta for a short visit on Dec. 24 -26 and managed to explore a few of your malls, including Plaza Senayan, Blok M Mall, Cempakamas, and a couple of others. I must say I'm impressed. :yes: The range and variety of offerings at these malls are on par with KL and Singapore .... and at excellent prices (upon conversion to my Ringgit and USD). There were huge crowds at every mall and I spent quite a bit of time soaking in the young, vibrant energy of the crowd. Oh yes, many stylish gals too eh? :naughty:

I also had many amusing engagements with the salespeople when my Bahasa Malaysia and their Bahasa Indonesia somehow got lost somewhere in the translation. :nuts:

However, I don't see that many free-spending tourists/foreigners in your malls -- at least not at the levels of KL or Bangkok. Jakarta needs better promotion as a great shopping destination .... on top of your cultural and natural attractions. This will bring in the much needed cold hard foreign currency.

Anyway, I hope to be back soon. Folks, if I have the time to visit only 4-5 Jakarta malls (with possibly different themes), where should I go?

I am rather happy to see the great amount of world class malls currently being buit in Jakarta and it is totally not a threat but great, great opportunities for MAlaysians. Some of these malls were built by the Malaysian's developers. Just like the acquisition of Lippo Bank and some telecommunication companies by companies originated from Malaysia. We work together under the spirit of ASEAN. Well, KL will not be a world class shopping haven today without the workers from Indonesia, millions and millions of them. From the award winning KL International Airport to Asia's largest mall, Berjaya Times Square to the Asia's largest sport complex, Bukit Jalil, to the world's tallest twin towers to the world's tallest concrete communication tower.... to hmmm ...
endlesss, 'Malaysia Boleh' spirit done by Indonesian workers. No doubt, a win-win cooperation. Lets work towards a better ASEAN!

Hi!

It is because they are skilled and capable of working that they are in demand. I have to say they are hardworking and talented. Singapore will not be today if not the export of Malaysian labourers ... it is the same ... I am proud of it. No insult at all. Be proud of your own people. I believe no one is above the other, everyone has a role to play in the society. Indonesia today is far from years ago, it is not just exporting general workers or maids but professionals such as engineers, accountants, doctors ...etc. My colleuge himself is from Indonesia.
