Has anyone got a rendering of pictures of our lovely skylines in 20 years time when the next batch of biggies will be built i'e Mlebourne in 2015 with Prima etc. would be interesting to see the difference in skylines and whether Brisbane gets closer to Sydney and Melbourne.
Cheers

Brisbane

Theres a massive thread of it

Keep in mind proposals have since gone away (Emerald) and new ones come (and bigger) (Treasury Row)

But this is a far enough prediction.

^^ not bad..... ;)

i wonder if any oz cities will get any super talls next round....

define super talls?
i think anything over 200m is supertall for oz.
Brisbane is getting 246m Vision, Gc is getting 240m Soul,Perth is getting 207m Parkwest.

Wow in 20 years? Who knows??
I can say though i think by that stage the GC would have the 2nd best skyline in Oz and even give Sydney a run for it's money (the CBD section that is). I say that cause i can see at least another 5 300m+ towers going up in that time. Whilst in Sydney i can see it stretching from Chastwood to the airport (all 16km of it). But as i said who knows??? EDH can announce a 300m tomorrow and change it, the height restrictions may be lifted? etc etc.
Melb can have a 400m built retaining the tallest in the southern hemisphere and build a string of others AND have the magnificant docklands well underway. Perth could explode, more than it already is. Even Darwin can grow in 20 yrs.

I hope that in 20 years our cities move away from building horrible 100% residential scrapers - we need mixed use!
I also hope that Meriton and Devine are banned from building new buildings until they start showing some creativity!

Adelaide will get something that every other city will envy!!! Perhaps a one-off signature tower or icon that will define Adelaide's skyline well into the new century.

^^where you answering his prayer and bestowing a gift upon his city or something???

i would define anything 280m+ as very tall, and 350m+ as super tall as of now....

Nice render of Brisbane even if the 'stand in' designs are a bit rubbish but they are just there as height envelopes I guess.

If you want a good impression of Brisbane in 20 years time, the masterplan simulation has an excellent graphic showing what it *could* look like, very dense and a lifted median height of 200m, all it needed was a WTB and it would be excellent!;)

Future renders of cities other than Brisbane or the Gold Coast would be awesome, Ive seen the ones of Bris and GC so many times but never seen one of the other cities. The only thing I dont like about the Brisbane one is that the Golden Triangle seems too dense for my liking, Id like to see it spread out a little more to give these talls their own presence, its kind of sad that you dont even get to see one of our most beautiful scrapers (CP1) any more.

the sydney city model is a future as you can get. it has all proposed and approved skyscrapers.so gives you an indication for about 10 years down the track, but there is always new towers coming in so no one really knows what the future will look like.some towers get built within 2 years after being approved while others linger around for a decade. aka- Lumiere/Fraser suites hole was dug in 1989. World sq commenced in 1986 and still going.

JayT, that one is missing a few isn't it. Someone a while back had some pics of Brisbane from about 2006, then 2008 and 2012 with a heap of proposed talls and all the talls had a number and what proposal or vision they were. Does anyone have it?

How about a render of skylines that could've been, say Melbourne with Grollo, Sydney with CBD-1 or whatever it was called, Perth with Westralia etc.

What is the tower on the left in that photo on the previous page it looks great and thanks for posting those pictures of Brisbane. Must be exciting living up there atm just like Melbourne in the 80's when the skyline was defined and altered forever. I'm jealous.

In the pic Malt posted I think it is the new State Government building that is proposed to be built sometime in the future. In the pic JayT posted it is the ‘rumoured’ Treasury Row building which is believed to be 80+ storys high.

hmm..the first Brissy render, the skyline looks pretty flat without any standouts, second one, and I'm guessing it's the most accurate and recent one looks better, and with a landmark scraper, along with the Australian city "must-have" of the cricket ground and the bridge:D

that just looks out of proportion, i think the skyline would look better without Vision, its just too far away from the rest of the talls..

Here's a render I made a while back showing what Brisvegas will look like with the rumoured Treasury Row tower (which I drew in at around 300m, though the height is only known to be 'very very tall'):

Hey Archi, don't forget to add the Shangri La Hotel. Does any one know what is happening with the 60 storey Shangri La Hotel. That will add some height to the Docklands.

I seriously doubt that it's happening. A friend has a Kwok group contact who said that they want to get out of it ASAP, and if you look at Shangri-La hotel literature, there are proposals for numerous projects from all over the world, but the Melbourne proposal has never been included. You can assume that it will be a "never built".
