So demolition=Under Construction. Bizzare. In that case you can add St Pauls Tower (31 storeys) and Block 3 (13 storeys) and for that matter preperation work has started on the NRQ which includes the 20 story Orio Tower.

East Side is a huge development area (not just a tower building), it is a regeneration area (140acres of Land), which has many parts under construction. That Tower wont be complete for over an extended period... between 2009-2015 perhaps.

and... Nottingham wins because it clearly has more under construction.. unless you want to prove me wrong.

Chill out! I'm not running it down, to the neutral its good entertainment so long may it continue! BTW I think Nottingham is a nicer city than Sheffield aesthetically. Quality of life wise I do not know.

Where did this rivalry stem from anyway, you're 40 odd miles apart. Surely Sheffield's natural rival would be Leeds?

To pick on a point made by Royal Blue above, Birmingham Airport is in Solihull yes. What does Solihull and Birmingham have in common? They are in the same county i.e. the WEST MIDLANDS and as it is a connurbation (Birmingham metro area) they are justified in calling it Birmingham international as it is the largest city in the connurbation. So your example does not fly since the East Midlands is an area not a county and Leicester is the largest east midland city and not Nottingham!

From The Guardian.

"East Midlands Airport"

Never heard of it. Where is it?
In the East Midlands of course.

Where?
Just east of the West Midlands.

You're bluffing. You don't know where it is.
Of course I do.

Silly name for an airport. Can't they be a bit more precise?
Not at the moment.

Why not?
They're very touchy about these things in the East Midlands.

Wherever that is.
Quite.

Who's getting touchy?
The people of Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, each of which claims the airport as its own.

Surely someone must know where it is.
It's in Leicestershire ...

Well, there you go ...
But the International Air Transport Association classifies it as in Nottingham and airline BMIbaby markets it across Europe as Nottingham (East Midlands) Airport.

Well, there you ...
But it's four miles closer to Derby than to Nottingham ...

Well, there ...
Though Loughborough also has a claim ...

Well ...
Not to mention Castle Donington, Kegworth, Swadlincote, Normanton on Soar, East Leake, Belton, Thringstone, Woodhouse Eaves, Mountsorrel, Shepshed, Gotham, Melbourne and Ashby de la Zouch.

Gotham Airport would have a certain ring to it:
Make your views known immediately.

Why?
Under pressure from BMIbaby, the airport is choosing a new name this month. A survey team is gathering the views of its "stakeholders".

What's likely to be chosen?
It's all up in the air at the moment.

Why not name it after a famous local person?
Possible. There's always Brian Clough, Gary Lineker and Robin Hood, and we mustn't forget Leicester boy Engelbert Humperdinck.

Would Engelbert Humperdinck fit on baggage labels?
Details, details.

OK, you've convinced me. Who do I make my submission to?
The East Midlands Development Agency is conducting the survey.

Where's it based?
I wish you hadn't asked that question.

Pleeeeeeese call it Robin Hood! That would make thinks entertaining. Do you want to go to Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Rotherham South Yorkshire or Robin Hood Nottingham Leicester Derby? Where will this madness stop? Who gives a shit about a mytical thief?
