No, it's not that. The location of that complex is some hundreds meters away and this plot is small to permit a super huge structure as that one.

This is not just testing ground though. The site is partially boarded and the machines were working.

Yeah, you are right though... the site is too small for a super tall. i am thinking of something in the range of 200m+ and hopefully it will look better than the Crowne Plaza trio. :cheers:

this is only visible because last week a strong wind has blown away the fence from liberty tower down to the acico nikko hotel plot

a dozen of cars was damaged and the fence hasn't been replaced as of today :D

^ No, Dennis, the fence blown by the wind that fell on top of a passers by and injuring a number of other peoples and demaging a number of cars, was that of Park Place Tower, which is also near Acico/Nikko Complex. That board is already replaced now.

The board of this site is as it always was, just that they have open a side (not front) section to allow for machineries to work and/or move.

I doubt it will be Al Rafi. That complex has a a common podium, while these two seams to be separate towers. The one next to Liberty has the shoring work done and excavation continuing.

I stand on my conviction that there we'll have a twin towers complex, I just hope for something cool and not just tall, as in Al Yaqoub case. :bash:

The other one, next to Crowne Plazza Hotel. The have stuck tyhose metal beams for the shoring perimeter and there was a bulldoser removing layers of dirt.

As visible from the pictures, the basement of the 2 buildings will be very close to each other and I doubt there are two different develoipers doing there. More and more the signs show of a 2 towers complex. :)

The two holes. As you can see they are separate, meaning there will be 2 towers, but the approximity of them (as seen on the picture below) and the fact the same contractor is doing the shoring work and both are behind the same board, suggest that they might be twins.

A similar one is hanging now on the boarding of the site, located in the middle of it, suggesting that these might be indeed a 2 towers complex. I doubt there will be info about the number of floors but at least some consultants are listed, so hopefully we might find some info on their websites.

Dennis, THIS tower is Latifa Tower, we got confused by the article posted months ago. The other tower next to Capricorn you can name it either MAZE or AL ROSTAMANI tower, since it doesn't have a name.

ThyssenKrupp's Twin systems for Latifa Tower

ThyssenKrupp Elevator has received an order to supply two Twin systems with a total of four cabs as well as 17 conventional elevators for the Latifa Tower in Dubai.

On completion of the 210-metre-high residential and office building planned for 2010, these will be the first Twin elevator installations in use in Dubai. While the upper Twin cabs in the Latifa Tower will travel in the shafts at up to six metres per second, the lower cabs will reach a speed of up to four meters per second.

In addition to the two Twin systems, two of the 17 conventional elevators are also suitable for use as Twins. If needed, they can be extended into a complete Twin system.

good quality , I saw many towers on the SZR, quality is much better than in Dubai Marina , JLT or any freehold areas.
