Sao Paulo doesn't have that.

But I acept that something looks like Tokyo. Tokyo is unique.

I agree there are some similarities between the two cities. Sao paulo hasnearly the same urban sprawl as Tokyo, But unlike tokyo, Sao paulo seems to have more skyscrapers.

Never been to Sao Paulo, but I am willing to bet that it is nowhere as good as Tokyo at street level. Also, SP is riddled with crime and poverty - that is a huge difference right there. The only similarity I can think of is that they are both megacities and they both sprawl a whole lot.

Some pics would let me believe Sao Paolo is Tokyo, can you see that seperation of high-rise and orderly residential urban fabric? Tokyo is not like that, cuz that's typical western. Tokyo is more a whole than Sao Paolo, mixed use of landuse is typical Tokyo.
Don't know what Ookido suggest with that picture above in this forum, do you mean the amount of (kanji)signs on the buildings is not been seen in Sao Paolo. Ofcourse that is correct, but the fundemental way of planning a city is entirely different, that's what is important to know.

Sao Paulo partly resembles Tokyo in different ways like the office buildings for example. They look like some of the ones in Tokyo. Also the sprawl. But Tokyo is more vibrant than Sao Paulo especially at night.

There is an area though in Sao Paulo called Liberdade which has a huge Japanese population!

The big panorama shots of SP do remind me of Tokyo sprawl. Like Tokyo, 90% of the buildings in SP are extremely UGLY!

I think there are about a million ethnic Japanese in the SP region, right?

^^ about a million, yes. The similarities are due to the fact that both São Paulo and Tokyo grew mostly during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, a period of not so glorious world architecture.

looking at these pictures sao paulo and tokyo seem to have an endless sea of low to mid rise skyscrapers. sao paulo looks a little taller while i think tokyo's metro politan area is the biggest in the world.

These two cities need some super talls to really get some recognition for their skylines, none of these cities has anything that is above 300m, a little dissapointing for the top 10 biggest cities in the world

In my opinion, both cities are unique in their own way- the only similarity is the density. :)
