One of the purposes of these kind of threads posted by Colombian forumers is to change the bad image the media has spread all over the world about Colombia. Drugs and violence are insignificant compared to all the good things that Colombia has to offer. One of the things I notice when people from other countries see pictures of Colombia is that they're always surprised by our beautiful cities and our raging nature. Colombia is a box full of surprises, it's truly the best kept secret of latin america.

Now let me introduce my hometown Bucaramanga. It has just over one million people. It's the 5th largest city in Colombia and the most important on the west of the country.

American media and hollywood poisons (movies) can defenitely change the way we think about other cultures, colombia is indeed a beatiful country and from what i've read the current problems it faces are being resolved very effectively.

I hate movies in that fasion. Many places are indeed beautiful and really quite spectacular.

But sadly because of movies, i have an imprint in my head that when ever i think of colombia, I seem to think of drugs :(
