I dont find it ugly at all. In fact its shape is very unique and might be inspired by something. In any case, I feel its is suitable as a landmark for Shenzhen.

6/10 - The main tower has some height, thanks to its tapering shape and the indentations at each corner, and the glass curtain walls can catch the light,

But that roof is just ugly - it kills the height, and makes the building look like the mother of all heating/air conditioning ducts, complete with a huge vent or outlet. The gray facade is bland, and it really needs some sort of trim.

The design of this tower is more suited to a pedestal than a skyscraper. Architects souldn't look to pieces of furniture for ideas if this is what comes out.

It would've been nice without that top part.. it is a little stumpy though.

Don't know what it is with PRC skyscrapers, but I don't like any of them I've seen yet. All other skyscrapers, even if I've not liked them, wouldn't mind them as apart of my home city's skyline to make it bigger, but I definately would draw the line with any PRC ones I've seen to date.

Well, it's different, I'll gave the architects credit for that. And it's certainly interesting to look at. I've seen many "wacky" buildings like this in Rate Our Talls, and some have been atrocious, but this one isn't all that bad.

The facade seems a little cheap and bland, and its top could have been thought out a little better, but overall it's an interesting landmark.

Would look best if they stopped it before the red "M" and capped it w/a nice lighted circular crown..... kinda like 311 S wacker in Chicago. I like the tower itself and the sinister top too but not together. Looks good at night!

That's a kick-ass scraper. If I were a lord of evil, I would definitely choose this building as my HQ. It is built out of the main cluster of tall buildings of Shenzhen so it stands quite isolated, tall, lonesone and mysterious.
Night lighting is eerie and has that evil-looking glowing red bank sign. Just suitable for such a building, really !
Shenzhen really has quite a number of kick-ass buildings :-)

it would've been better if not for the risky top, which i think is a love-or-hate thing, and the plain base. there's no way i'm not to acknowledge the beautiful shape though. and it's pretty beautiful at night. 7.5/10
