The Mad Hatter!! December 3rd, 2005, 08:44 PM whoa, don incredible
youre one of a kind...and so are those views i've always that santa maria and bristol have the best views of miami
DGM December 3rd, 2005, 11:13 PM Very nice. Someone has to remember to take shots of Brickell from those buildings in like 5 years so we can have good before/after shots. The western views are also pretty impressive if you think about how many trees miami has. You see buildings peeking out above a forest of trees not trees peeking out from behind buildings.
rider_of_rohan December 4th, 2005, 01:37 AM Very nice Don, you sure have access to some great spots.
Pablo63090 December 4th, 2005, 06:26 AM Great Job! Great aerials of Brickell Avenue and the damage to the Four Seasons is quite noticable.
Roark December 4th, 2005, 07:57 AM Excellent pics Don! Thanks so much for taking the time to share those!....and Happy Birthday!

great pics don
NIMBY :) , that building that your friend lives in with the huge parking garage, could the name of that building be the Brickell View Apartment Tower, if so, its the same tower that is one of the oldest towers along Brickell Ave. that have many of the older residents in there that make up over 40 % of the Brickell Ave. Homeowners association :bash: , which opposes any more tower developments along their area of Brickell Ave.
:bash: This same association gave the " Metropolitan " condo tower next door with those beautiful colors a huge fight in building their tower that it was built half the size that it was supposed to be. That huge parking garage will never change. at least for the next 15 years.
p.s. I believe that tower was built in the late 60's early 70's, its one of the first to go tall on that portion of Brickell Avenue from S.E. 15th Road to the entrance of the rickenbacker causeway.
BHK25 December 4th, 2005, 11:26 PM Really amazing pixs Don. Thanks for sharing.
logybogy December 5th, 2005, 12:08 AM Is that smog in the picture? Looks pretty hazy.

I think the tower you're speaking about is the Brickell Townhouse which was built back in 1963. It was the first major high-rise built on Brickell Avenue at 77m./253ft. and 21 stories. It was the tallest structure in Brickell for about 12 years when the Brickell Bay Club was completed in 1974.

looks smoggy, but i don't think its smog... sometimes when you look off into the distance, it looks hazy, other times... the view is crystal clear

Pablo :) , my friend, Your right, that's the name, and it was in the 60's when my father and mother drove accross the old rickenbacker causeway to the Free :) Crandon Park Zoo, and there was that only tall tower and huge back then in my pre-teen days in all the traffic trying to take Brickell ave north U.S. 1, when there was No I-95 south of the N.W. 23rd street final exit into the McArthur Dairy Milk distrubution area off N.W. 7th Ave.. :runaway:
Wow, I still remember those days, No I-395, No S.r. 836, No I-95 through Downtown Miami to U.S. 1 south.
Just Old Brickell AVE. :) , north to Biscayne Blvd, when only the Four Ambassordors Hotel stood to be the other tallest structures during the 60's.

Pablo63090 December 5th, 2005, 03:48 AM Awesome aerials of Key Biscayne. If you look carefully to the right of the last picture, you can see the Cape Florida Lighthouse built back in 1825.

PABLO :) , good eye my friend, YES , that's the Cape Florida Lighthouse at the southeast end of Key Biscayne, Very good sighting, bro..
Don Pacho :) , Great pics again Bro, JAN :) , the administrator here could have used that Fantastic South Beach Pic, # 3, in the last set of Pics at the Top of these Forums, That would have been a Perfect picture to Show the World of Skyscraper City Members.

I saw a cool areal photo of the city from about 1965 once and Brickell ave was this highrise surrounded by mansions along the bay. It was similar to the small section of Brickell Ave that continues south after the Rickenbacker (by Stalone's old house).
dave8721 December 5th, 2005, 03:34 PM Someone should forward this photo to the Herald. They could run it with the headline "Vultures circle Miami condo market"

rider_of_rohan December 5th, 2005, 04:51 PM ^^^^ haha Dave and they would probably run it lol. Wonder where those birds went during the storm.
