You amde a thread to tell us of an upcoming phototour! Haha! I bet most will have forgotten by the time it actually comes out, and be mildly surprised at its subject :P

But, I've never really seen Kitchener, so this'll be differnt.. ish..

I'm surprised not many people have seen MY downtown Kitchener tour that I did in late October, but if you want a little sneak preview, check out this thread of Kitchener (downtown) by yours truly. :)

I lived downtown in the Civic District and really miss it. I love the tree lined streets and the quaint Victorian homes, hell even the old factories have character and are just waiting to be developed. Suburban Waterloo just isn't the same. Sure its affluent and green but I may as well be in suburban London, its just so typical Ontario. I like Kitchener as it has a character about it, sure its satantic with a Manchester vibe in parts, but look what they did to Manchester - its now one of Europe's hippest cities and those dark satantic mills are downright cool now.

All Kitchener needs is planners with imagination and maybe some more trees planted on King Street to soften it up a bit. The city is very green but King Street could use some work. I hate that gap across from city hall. If it wasn't for the lovely tourism office building, I'd say wipe out every building between city hall and Victoria Park - just open it up and bring the park into the city core.

The bus station should be knocked down and another built closer to the train station. Build a proper bus/rail inter-change.
