LOL, today Kuwait was very foggy. We all thought that itll clear away after a couple of hours of sunlight, but it didnt, and now its getting much worse. I could hardly see outside my bedroom window, and by tommorow visibility may be as low as 2 miles. Anyways, if you want, you can post pictures lol :lol:

i heard that many flights were cancelled or delayed-- some for more than 60 hours!! But, it will give passengers a chance to see the Airport Mall at least :)

why muscat?? The only logical airports other than Bahrain would be Dammam or Doha... Hows the weather now, Kuwaiti??

the best alternate airport is Bahrain , but bahrain airport couldnt handle all the traffic then they start diverting the flight to dubai, but muscat i dont know

it have nothing to do with VFR OR IFR , kuwait airport is a CAT2 airport and on that day the visibility was less than 100m , that why the DGCA of kuwait was the one to close down kuwait inte airport and force kuwait airways flights and even the other carriers to divert they flight path :cheers:

KUWAIT CITY –– Thick fog disrupted air traffic to and from Kuwait overnight with all incoming flights diverted to neighbouring countries, a civil aviation official said Wednesday.

"All flights were suspended and later rescheduled due to thick fog that prevented the airport from operating at night," head of operations Abdulhameed Dashti told AFP.

Flights resumed on Wednesday with the first aircraft landing at 6:15 am (0315 GMT), he said.

A majority of flights on Monday night were also diverted due to the fog that hit the emirate, reducing night-time visibility to less than 100 meters (yards).

Fog is rare in Kuwait, a dry desert state in the Gulf, where summer is long and hot with temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit), and winter is short and mild. Average annual rainfall is around 100 millimeters (four inches)
