Emaar Properties PJSC, the world's No 1 real estate company, today unveiled the first of six exclusive towers in its Burj Dubai South Ridge community.

An artist's impression of the Burj Dubai South Ridge community.
South Ridge is the latest residential property to be revealed at the exclusive Burj Dubai district and offers some of the best panoramic views of the 500-acre project. With unique views and unrivalled state-of-the-art amenities, the South Ridge community is set to become the ultimate in urban living for young professionals looking for an elevated lifestyle.
Overlooking the stunning Old Town and The Old Town Island with its prestigious low-rise residences, boutiques and souks fashioned in the style of vintage Arabia, and the bustling Burj Dubai Boulevard with its 24-hour eclectic mix of cafes and restaurants and topped off with the nearby Burj Dubai Lake, the latest edition of downtown living at Burj Dubai is set to establish itself as a firm favourite in the city.
'South Ridge is a unique property and will be one of the most sought after locations in Dubai,' said Naaman Atallah, Director of Sales at Emaar Properties. He added: 'With the very best of modern day living for young working professionals seeking to be near the buzz and vibrancy of the new heart of the city, South Ridge will epitomize the best of Dubai and capture its feel like no other.'
South Ridge One will offer one, two and three bedroom suites ranging from 835 to 3,008 sq ft with a maximum of five suites on each floor and panoramic windows taking full advantage of the visual delights below. Two and three bedroom penthouses will also be positioned on the top floor of the tower.
Inspired by traditional Islamic architecture the tops of the towers are sculpted into massive planes and surfaces, from which elegant finials top the silhouettes. Islamic design is also apparent throughout the interior with mosaics and paving patterns featuring throughout and complimenting the modern amenities of the tower.
With combined IT outlets in each room designed to cater for every 21st century need along with swimming pool, fitness centres, gymnasium, squash and badminton courts and private garden courts, the facilities on offer are second to none. Each tower also has a distinguished lobby design and concierge facility along with four parking levels for tenants and visitors and 24-hour mobile security services.
Suites are furnished with integrated household appliances including dishwashers, fridge and range hood with combined washer dryers housed in a laundry cupboard to make life in the fast lane as easy as possible.
Located close to the new commercial and business district of Dubai as well as the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and the World Trade Centre, South Ridge is ideally positioned to take advantage of the city's thriving commercial sector.
Construction is already underway with completion work on the six towers expected by the end of 2007.
Dubai-Lover December 7th, 2005, 05:53 PM this is part of the residences phase 2

Dubai-Lover December 7th, 2005, 09:05 PM now it even more looks like a copy paste of the residences :(
AlMillion December 7th, 2005, 09:19 PM Ironic that the Emaar Chairman grumbles about people not designing nice towers while they're just re-using the same design again and again ...
dubaiflo December 7th, 2005, 09:48 PM lol.
anyway somehow i prefer similar designs around burj dubai, this makes it stand out even more, really i like this.
Face81 December 8th, 2005, 12:36 AM UGLY! :ohno:  :gaah:  :fiddle: :badnews:  :wallbash: :bash:
Why another UGLY 6 tower complex? WHY??????????????????????????

Citystyle December 8th, 2005, 03:07 AM Flo likes it and it's usually very hard to please him. It must be good.
docc December 8th, 2005, 07:46 AM Where exactly is this located in BD? Behind "The Residences" ? Cos thats where T1,2,3 are being constructed right?
I was just wondering...
People had purcahsed apartments in the Residences at launch direct for Emaar at about AED 1000/S.ft. What do you suppose the value is now (not talking about 2nd's market with premium n all). I am just referring to the value appreciation since it was announced.
Any ideas?
Stephan23 December 8th, 2005, 10:35 AM Agree Face81.Verrrrrrryyyy Ugly
Krazy December 8th, 2005, 10:48 AM Boring and old.
dubaiflo December 8th, 2005, 12:45 PM Flo likes it and it's usually very hard to please him. It must be good.
exactly, this is good you have to agree with me

thedubailife December 8th, 2005, 01:39 PM Not impressed, look like tower blocks from the sixties, they recycling the design, yeah i know we should be enviromentally friendly but this is going a bit too far.
I think in future if the tower structure is not unique, then the apprecation will be smaller as in this case you'll have 6 towers to chose from.
farnush December 8th, 2005, 02:02 PM no i like this ... i like all the emaar buildings in marina ....they blend in more than the other with the desert background... i am a fan of their buildings...
docc December 8th, 2005, 04:27 PM Any idea where exactly it is located within the BD development?
dazz December 8th, 2005, 05:39 PM Any idea where exactly it is located within the BD development?

hover your mouse on lower left corner, it's there.
malec December 8th, 2005, 06:00 PM They're not too bad but I do think too many will look the same
dubaiflo December 8th, 2005, 08:01 PM which makes bd stick out even more. i like this actually.
Alle December 8th, 2005, 10:13 PM the highest are 40+ floors tall.
Face81 December 9th, 2005, 01:49 AM no, Flo..... they are overdoing it. The BD doesnt need ugly towers to make it stick out..... I dont think there is anything that could make it shine any less. Its already fantastic. These are going to bring down the prestige of the area.... thats what I think anyway. :ohno:
malec December 9th, 2005, 01:54 AM Let's hope there will at least be a few great towers here.
Question, what will be the tallest in this complex apart from burj obviously? Will it be the lake hotel or are there more? I think SA Boy said something about this in the gossip thread.

Well so far it is the Lake Hotel, isnt it? Would be nice to get a varied skyline with some slighlty taller buildings. I agree.
BigDreamer December 9th, 2005, 11:57 AM i think it will be the most overvalued block in dubai,
Trances December 9th, 2005, 12:06 PM i have to agree, even given the size of the site over all its going to be below average unless theres is a major over haul in each tower relased after these.
Face81 December 9th, 2005, 06:08 PM I hope so too, Trances.... they need to wake up before its too late! :ohno:  :badnews:
Saudi guy December 9th, 2005, 10:29 PM classic but fine

dubaiflo January 13th, 2006, 04:58 PM nah these are pretty ok.
and everything is now so heavily UC in the BD complex.
only waiting for BD LH ... :(
Face81 January 13th, 2006, 05:27 PM seriously, Flo. they are very ugly!
dubaiflo January 13th, 2006, 05:33 PM they aren't, they look ok and a bit deira style but i like this in burj dubai complex.
Face81 January 13th, 2006, 06:04 PM the only reason that I will accept them is the fact that they will let the BD shine even more, otherwise, they are aweful.
Dubai-Lover January 13th, 2006, 07:58 PM i had a close look at the facade of the almost completed residences
look very classic, not bad
i like them more and more
take a ride out there and have a close look and you will change your opinion immediately
Face81 January 13th, 2006, 08:43 PM Dennis, the residences are fine, but these buildings are like their evil twin sisters (who also happen to be VERY ugly)
Enough with the 6 building complexes with common podiums!!! We need some more original stuff here. Please! :gaah:
THE DUBAI GUYS January 13th, 2006, 08:49 PM i have to agree with face bout the common podium thing but u know the design isnt that bad (6.5/10)...ok so its not the best but as face pointed out emaar is prolly biulding these types cuz they want ppl to focus on the BD and oly on the BD and not the surrounding buildings when pics of downtown dubai r taken.
R
malec January 13th, 2006, 09:17 PM ^^ I think it's getting to the stage where there's too much similarity. It's as if all the other towers are worshipping the burj. It would be better to have some more interesting towers around so that not ALL the attention is focused on it.
I remember SA Boy saying something about Gehry doing a tall one for the burj dubai complex.
THE DUBAI GUYS January 13th, 2006, 09:29 PM u make a good point malec...but I guess thats emaar's main idea.

dubaiflo January 13th, 2006, 09:30 PM i like this idea actually . and BD LH around, should look good.
Face81 January 13th, 2006, 09:49 PM Its time for someone to breathe some fresh air into this development. Enough of the similar buildings. Please. :( :tongue2:

Emaar and RAKBANK offer exclusive finance solution for premier Burj Dubai South Ridge community.
Buyers will be offered a 95 per cent mortgage loan with which to purchase their ideal home.
Through the loan offer, purchasers only need a 5 per cent down payment rather than the standard minimum charge of 10 per cent thereby offering South Ridge one bedroom apartments from AED 5,390 per month and two bedroom apartments from AED 12,545 per month.
Potential buyers are invited to Emaar's Downtown Living Presentation Centre at the Burj Dubai from 9am to 7pm from Monday, May 8 to Saturday, 13 2006, to learn more about the unique financial opportunity.
South Ridge offers some of the best panoramic views of the 500-acre Burj Dubai Downtown development. Coupled with unrivalled state-of-the-art amenities, the South Ridge community is set to become the ultimate in urban living for young professionals looking for an elevated lifestyle. The South Ridge community is currently under construction and due for completion in 2007.
Consisting of six exclusive towers, South Ridge overlooks the stunning Old Town and The Old Town Island with its prestigious low-rise residences, boutiques and souks fashioned in the style of vintage Arabia, and the bustling Burj Dubai Boulevard with its 24-hour eclectic mix of cafes and restaurants and topped off with the nearby Burj Dubai Lake. Since the launch of the first South Ridge tower last December, the community has already established itself as a firm favourite in the city.
'This is a watershed moment in the history of home financing and one in which Emaar is proud to be working with RAKBANK to assist purchasers in acquiring their dream property. Combining a truly stunning location with world class amenities, the South Ridge community is a unique set of properties and a supreme example of urban living. Whether as an investment or a home, South Ridge is a must-have for anyone looking for luxury apartment living in the world's most prestigious address,' said Bahiya Kayed, Assistant Director of Sales, Emaar Properties.
'We are pleased to partner with Emaar on this offer and look forward to more initiatives that offer homeowners unique opportunities for purchasing property. We wanted to create a package that would parallel what was on offer within the exclusive Burj Dubai Downtown and such a finance solution was the perfect fit,' said Murray Sims, Head of Personal Banking, RAKBANK.
Other incentives offered along with the 95 per cent mortgage loan include loan tenors of 20 years with flexible repayment options, competitive interest rates and pre-approved Titanium credit card with every application. Approval of all loans is subject to RAKBANK's terms and conditions.
Running up against the boundaries of the new Dubai International Financial Centre, adjacent to Sheikh Zayed Road - the emirate's main conduit and centrally positioned to access both old Dubai and Dubai's new growth corridor, Burj Dubai Downtown will eventually become one of the most desirable pieces of real estate in the world.

Emaar to unveil final South Ridge tower at Downtown Burj Dubai
[Monday, September 11, 2006 3:45:00 pm]
Real estate major Emaar Properties has announced the launch of South Ridge 4, the final in a series of six South Ridge towers within the 500-acre Downtown Burj Dubai development, which ushers in a vibrant new lifestyle to the region.
Offering direct views of Burj Dubai, the iconic super-tower billed to be the tallest in the world when completed in 2008, the 130-apartment South Ridge 4 featuring one - and two-bedroom units will be open for sales from September 14, 2006. South Ridge 4 is also in close proximity to The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest mall, apart from the other components of Downtown Burj Dubai like boulevards, parks and walkways.
“The launch of South Ridge 4, the final tower in the South Ridge series, has been keenly anticipated by the investors,” said Bahiya Kayed, Assistant Director of Sales, Emaar Properties. “In addition to offering spectacular views of Burj Dubai, its central location is convenient to home-owners who look for easy access to all the business and financial nerve centers of Dubai. Being part of the prestigious Downtown Burj Dubai, residents can also look forward to being part of a trendy living environment with a host of leisure, retail, hospitality and
entertainment elements.” All South Ridge towers,
featuring traditional Islamic architectural elements, have fetched overwhelming investor response. The towers have a unique design with the top sculpted into planes featuring elegant ornamental silhouettes. The interiors are characteristic of Islamic architectural styles and textures. The towers have modern amenities offered as standard in Emaar’s lifestyle projects.
The spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments in South Ridge 4 ranging from 927 and 1,486 sq. ft. are priced upwards of AED 834,888 and AED 1.64 million. Emaar Properties has joined hands with its home finance subsidiary Amlak Finance to offer easy home finance packages for South Ridge 4. Amlak will offer up to 96 per cent of the value for tenures of up to 20 years.
“Investor response to South Ridge towers has been overwhelming,” said Khalid Zainal, Head of Sales and Distribution, Amlak Finance. “With 4 per cent down payments of only AED 33,395 and AED 55,835 for one- and two-bedroom apartments followed by easy monthly installments of AED 6,980 and AED 11,653 respectively, investors and home-owners now have the option of owning a home at rates that are lesser than the rent they pay elsewhere.”
Potential investors and homeowners can visit Emaar’s Downtown Living Presentation Centre at the Downtown Burj Dubai development from today (September 11), from 9am to 7pm for pre-approval from Amlak, and from September 14 for actual purchases. Sales staff from Emaar and Amlak will be on hand to offer all assistance.
South Ridge towers are strategically located nearby The Old Town and The Old Town Island in Downtown Burj Dubai, and border the new Dubai International Financial Centre. The AED 73 billion (US$20 billion) Downtown Burj Dubai development also encompasses The Residences, Burj Dubai Lake Hotel and Serviced Apartments, The Lofts, Burj Views and Burj Dubai Boulevard. The ambitious development
will create a new centre for the city and provide first class living, working and entertainment options.

The view from the top of one of the South Ridge towers will be incredible: low rise (old town and old town island), the lake, and then the Burj dwarfing all the little buildings in front of it.
