10 News has just reported (showing live pictures) that a window cleaning gantry is stuck under one of the office awnings. The situation is made worse by the approaching severe storms.

They reported that strong winds were the cause of it locking under the awning.

It is on the river side closest to the Riverside Centre. People on the Story bridge would have an ideal view.

The latest is that 1 person is still trapped on the 12th floor of the office section of the building.

Seven News said that the plan was to remove a glass pane from the nearest window to rescue him.

It just came across the screen that they got the guy off the gantry, all safe.

I'm no stuck at home tonight because there is a blackout at work due to the storm :(

I was channel flicking at around 6.50 during ACA a news ticker said the guy was safe. However on ABC news they said they were mounting a rescue plan, so does this mean that ABC2 news is pre recorded? :P

:o I actually have a photo of the firetrucks racing to attempt the rescue there, and stopped outside. I assumed as I walked past that it was a fire drill or some such. (And was in a hurry (to get under cover before the storm hit) so I didn't look up. doh!.... )
