Its been over 5 months since I last posted day 1 and 2 of my epic 10 day tour of kyushu.My apologies.Ive been pretty lazy recently.



So here is she is.Nagasaki prefecture of Nagasaki city.Ive been to every city,prefectue and almost evey town in Japan between between Sapporo and Kagoshima(From north to south for those of you not familar the place).Nagasaki is my all time favourite city and prefecture.Ive been there 3 times,twice by train(one of those times with my brother visiting from Australia) and this time by Skywave.Its got the right elements,Moutains,sea,breathtaking coastline,good food and wonderful people.

WELCOME TO NAGASAKI PREFECTURE

Nagasaki city.A city on the edge.Literally.Unless you can afford to live down in the confines of the city center,you dont have much choice but to live high up on the slopes that surround the city.

The only way to travel in this slopy city is by scooter or car.Its one of the few cities in Japan without hords of bicycles.Up up she goes.Go steady on
that scooter mate!

There she is in all her glory.Nagasaki on a hot spring day in April 2005.Taken up high in one of the suburbs on the slope.My favourite city in Japan and along with Wellington NZ,Melbourne AUS,Aosta Italy,Rome,Tokyo,London,Sydney(Bias),Montreal,and Osaka(bias) one of best places in the world to soak it up

Hey!!! Manjara!!! The scooter life down in the back alleys of the city.Notice the Church in the background.Nagasakians were exposed to christainity untill it was banned in the 16th century by the Shogan.

The Dutch quarter.A big influence in the city.The Dutch and the Chinese were the only countries allowed to trade with Japan when the Shogan kicked out all the Europeans and other nationals in the 16 century.
