First he's heard ^^

If a worlds tallest was ever built in the UK I don't think It would happen in London...maybe as part of the regeneration of Wembley, but nowhere near the centre.

Damn, if it's true I don't know what to think of it.

Surely it refers to a British practice designing it for another country?

Would anybody want a 800m building in London? I think it would look terrible.

sorry but i think anyone should build anything that tall, since dubai has made the wtb a worthless title it no longer means anything in my opinion although i would love to see london get a mix of 4 or 5 300m and 2 0r 3 400 m towers

I agree, London should aim for quite tall and quality.

London office, British pratice. Nowhere does it say it will actually be built in London. All it means is a London architect is probably designing something for Dubai.

London will never, ever have the WTB. Doesn't need it either.

Doesn't say anywhere that it will be the "World's Tallest Building".

London

yeah.... it could just mean the 1000ft barrier or summin

I don't even want the world's tallest building to be in London, its too gimmicky and will look severely out of place anywhere its put!

It doesn't even say it's in London. It could be anywhere.
It could be a proposal for Liverpool, Sydney or Beijing for all those 3 lines tell us.

No no oh god no! 300-350m is just about right for London to be honest. We don't want a 1000m soaring mofo in our skyline now do we? I say no! Please no!
EH, CAA object to this :tongue2:

don't worry, this has nothing to do with london. a british architect is designing a 1,001m tower for kuwait.

Although, from a practical point of view, considering the predicted rise in population and how small our island is, I would not be against ultra highs in a "new London" say along the Thames corridor. I agree, I see no place for monsters in Central London.

I agree, super talls are pretty inevitable in London, it is just where we think about locating them.

It's insane.
Imagine 50-100 years after completion, when the madly high tower has an old-fashioned look and they decide to demolish it. What a job... pick down piece for piece. No TNT on that house :)
