thanks, but the tower has nothing more to complete because:

stone cladding- 99.5 %
glass panels - 100%
core - 100%
floor plates -100%
landscaping - 70%
lamella structure-80%
lighting -20% +
not sure about the lighting but except for a few patches of stone cladding behind the cranes the tower has nothing to complete externally and also the car park probably has to go a few more floors

the design is unique. but IMO, was horrible. the glasses facade is awesome. but, the white facade that in concrete side, is like a wounded human body, it's seem like a hand that wounded and the skin was detached from the bone. i can see the hollows of the hand bone there, and the long skin that released from the bone, and feel the painfull and hurt :nuts::nuts::nuts::nuts::nuts:

My favorite Skyscraper of all time :yes: though I don't like the base.... but the rest is AMAZING. :D

The photographer mentioned that the date of taking this shot was on January, 14, 2011... In january, 2011, the CBK building was Just reaching its half height and Alhamra tower was still having its two cranes on the top of it...
This photo was taken recently, but I don't know about the fake sky :nuts:
Anyways, Almasoud's works are so creative and beautiful...

I can clearly see the picture was taken at sunset or morning because of the shadow of the buildings, and the clouds look quite shiny from above. Well that's only my opinnion.

The large screen outside Al Hamra Tower was on as I passed by probably being tested out.
Last week I noticed the tower lights were being tested out and the whole building was blinking and changing colors. Is it normal that every tower popping up in Kuwait now has it’s own light show taking place at night?

some bad news the tower is opening not anytime this year but in march 2012 i asked many of the people at ahamra and they all said the same thing but however the mall can be expected a bit earlier and the lights will be coming on very soon

I wish there was a golden facade on the concrete part...

all in all the with the overall details of this tower and the fantastic night light scheme.

i Gotta say this is another Middle east Stunner

It turned out wonderful very good for Kuwait.

Charles, as the owner company announced on its twitter account, this event was to celebrate the completion of building the tower but not the official opening...
It seemed they wanted to get advantage of the magical date of 11-11-11...
I hope that the official opening event will be more creative and colorful than this one...

the people at al hamra said it will open for hala February

Thanks Thamerium for your shots! Al Hamra has something of an origami (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origami) about itself, as if it is paperfolded by a magical hand!
Anyway, Kuwait seems on the right track as to supertalls
Kuwait is SO different to Dubai (in terms of people and mentality and atmosphere)

Great architecture this topper, perhaps the facade is too dark, but the shape and the lights in the evening are all perfect.

The Tower looks AMAZING! How long was it under construction?

My opinion - nicest building to be constructed in the last 10 years.

Beautiful design, thoughtful integration with existing skyline and surrounding buildings and a real landmark building. Finished off with what has to be the best night appearance in the world.

Great job - Kuwait should be extremely proud. I'd give anything to have this in Melbourne!

I was at the site the other day, it's almost complete, ground works mainly ongoing, the glass could certainly use a good wash as well.

The mall opens in Feburary and will have an IMAX cinema complex, which should be cool. Hopefully there will be a restuarant or some way for the general public to enjoy the views from top side.

Goes without saying, but it's a spectacular tower and depending where you are viewing it from can look very different because of the sculpted shape, I think the best angle is from around the Kuwaiti Towers.

The mall is not open, only Hermes is open, the mall opens next month, they haven't finished it yet, there's still a fair degree of ground work and interior work ongoing on this complex.

hopefully opening the complex won't be later than the 1st half of 2012 .. :(
