LtBk December 31st, 2005, 09:58 PM How could Rishon Le Zion be a sister city of PGC? PGC is a county, not a city in MD.
Shohad December 31st, 2005, 10:39 PM This "sister cities" concept is bullshit.

NorthPole January 5th, 2006, 10:44 PM ^^ Nablus is Shechem, Israel.
Don't blame me for that, but it seems like Poznan made agreement with Palestinian Nablus and not with Israeli Shechem.
Maybe Jews just missed out on this agreement :)
It's still less controversial than making East Jerusalem as a sister city, right? :runaway:
source26 January 5th, 2006, 10:56 PM When the romans captured the Jewish city of Shechem, as in many others, they also changed its name to link it to their empire.
The name they gave it was Niapolis. Now, in arabic you probably dont know but they cant prenounce "p" and they switch it with "b". so niapolis, became niabolis, which later became nablus..
Anyway, its Shechem :)
NorthPole January 6th, 2006, 11:03 AM ^^ I know, I know (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=6578716&postcount=338) :)
TalB January 15th, 2006, 02:42 AM If anyone still doesn't think Tel Aviv is Manhattanized, then look at these pics.
