View Full Version : Basilica of Scherpenheuvel | Belgium
Josh December 14th, 2005, 11:01 PM Built in 1609 by the Spanish dukes Albert and Isabella and finished in 1627. The architect Wenceslas Cobergher was inspired by Italian baroc and the Duomo of Firenze. The dome is decorated with 298 golden stars. Nowadays the basilica is the most important pelgrimage site in Belgium.
