I have been noticing a prestigious project in newspapers by Tricon Developers a joint venture between Newage Cables group and Habib Rafiq, its a ninteen storey building on Jail Road adjacent to Siddique Trade Centre on Main Boulevard.Today on December 15 The Dawn has shown a full page sketch of the building and its looks majestic. The builders claim work has been started on the project. I will term this project as a good addition to Lahore Skyline.

Wow! that's a nice project! I rarely pass that site... the rendering is quite well done, esp. the siddique trade centre looks exactly like the real one.

Ground breaking was done yesterday, it is in today's newspaper.

the tower looks nice but its being made were a haunted house use to be, the house was abandoned for the last 10 years or so because of some creepy stuff which use to happen there, some people have also died who tried to enter the abandoned house. they say the ghost killed it. it was a famous landmark in lahore but now they are demoliting it.

i ask them by mail they said 18 floors of tower will have 250 feet height and construction will complete in december 2007

This idea is employed in many buildings I was looking at design of a new building at Karachi they had added parking floor somewhere around 7th & 8th floor, though it does add to the cost of the building.

True, even Trump tower which is being constructed in Chicago has parking floors starting from 3rd to 12th floor.

Na.. that cant happen because the higher you go, the more expensive construction gets and for each and every sq.ft of floor area you build above 200ft you have to pay LDA extra height charges for it.

Building looks good but the thing I dont understand is Pakistani Architects infatuation with "Gold" colored glass and hideous looking "spires" (if they can even be called that! This is supposed to be a "corporate tower", dont these idiots know that nothing says "corporate" better than blue cladding?

The most hideous is that Crown Tower on Sharea Faisal, its gold and complete with a huge crown.

BTW I havent seen this project before so I'm not sure about it, if anyone else can come up with the previous thread it can be merged.

I agree that the spire is gay. The renders don't always look like the actual building and I wouldn't be surprised if the yellow-tinted windows took a hike. If you think the colouring of this building is bad, you should take a look at the buildings in India.. some of them have several colours blended together.

Wondering if in Pakistan they don't use any efficient way to demolish old structure than by manual labour which seems dangerous and painstakingly slow. These poor laboreres could easily fall or have an accident. Are there no laws that these construction contractors have to abide by regarding safety precautions?

Is it because some of the material is recycled or sold as scrap ? Most probably pure greed and full disregard for poor laborers lives!

read in a news paper that the Tricon Tower's 6 basements will be completed by the end of January.. which BTW is evident when you pass by the site.. things have progressed there...

rest of the 15 or 16 stories what ever they are will be completed completed by the end of june 2008... this was stated by the CEO of the company...!!

OK, I'll give my opinion on the building. It definitely looks better than before, but I didn't really have a problem with how it looked before. Bhai's building ain't too bad either.

Same here! I don't mind it. Its actually quite nice and I'm not just saying it because I'm scared of bhai.

Its not even completed from the inside, I went to this Mobilezone (Unitedmobile?) outlet inside on some floor, its still got bricks lying around.

And its nowhere as good inside as it looks outside.

Its not that slow the work is going on gradually.Now most of the towers had reached the ground level now its time to see many highrises in lahore.

LAHORE: Tricon Corporate Centre, the first ever corporate building in Lahore, has started rising above ground level after successful completion of its six basements, reserved for car parking only.

This was disclosed by Tricon Developers Chief Executive Asif Kamal while chairing a meeting to review the status of ongoing and future projects of Tricon Developers. He said that the construction work above ground level was underway besides finishing work on basements that was in last stages. The storeys above ground level would be completed by August 2008 with a handing over target of December 2008, he added.

Describing the major features of Tricon Corporate Centre, Asif Kamal said that this iconic building included AAA corporate offices, all day café, conference hall and an executive dining restaurant at top floor over looking the city of Lahore. From above news it is really amazing that they are going to build whole structure till AUG 2008 and hand it over in DEC 2008.Thats great news.:)

Thats what Mods are for. Their not really our "masters" as we make them out to be. They're our servants. Who have to sort out and organise everything for us. no they are not going to slow actually there project was halted for some reason now in august they had again resumed the work and are gaining speed my couzin office is very near to TRICON TOWER he said to me that now they are working day and night and they had started work on 3 floor...

So i think it will be good addition to Lahore Skyscapers

LAHORE: Construction work continues in full pace and we are all set to achieve the target of completion of the structure up to 7th floor of Tricon Corporate Centre before Eidul Azha.

This was disclosed by Tricon Developers Chief Executive Asif Kamal during his visit to the site of Tricon Corporate Centre here on Wednesday. General Manager (Projects) Ziaul Hassan along with other engineering staff was also present on the occasion.

Asif Kamal thoroughly visited all the sections of the building and physically witnessed the construction work in progress. While briefing, General Manager (Projects) Ziaul Hassan said that soon after completion of the structure up to 7th floor before upcoming Eid, finishing work on basements will start. He said that the construction work is underway simultaneously in various sections of the project and, "we hope to start construction above 7th floor soon after Eid."

The chief executive showed his satisfaction over the construction status of the centre and appreciated the services of project department of Tricon Developers. He said that our mission is to provide housing and corporate buildings in Pakistan according the international standard and we will never compromise on quality, as quality is first and foremost principle of the company.

this is daily routine..... some of the VIPs pass through this route pretty commonly... so there is always this police patroling going on....

ya sania i totaly agree with you and em quite exited to see when its completed. you know tomorrow i can see tricon an pace tower from Calvary ground bridge both buildings are quite adjacent and competitive in height. that's really amazing.

actually last Wednesday they first should compete the some part of 10th floor which is incomplete and then move on to complete the 11th. but now they are very much ahead in the 11th floor as it seen in the 2nd pic.

good to see in such difficult political and economical situations in pak some peoject are going with full pace
