Since I can't find the existing soton thread, I've had to create a new one.

Does anyone have any info on this latest development - a few pictures can be found at

The Soton thread was deleted along with many others during a recent hack. If the forumers will come back to it, it'll be worth starting it again. Twas a good thread too.

Pictures of the recent application for Ocean village - main hotel building.

Seems to be 10 hotel stories above 4 office levels - probably 180-200ft??

according to millennium hotels the opening is in 2008

Well i walk past Oceana Boulevard every day on the way to work, that, i think is our biggest under construction at the moment at 13 floors :).

Thats topped out i think, but theres a lot of external cladding and brickwork to go on.

Also i noticed the tower section of a crane has gone up next to the old BT office building which is being converted into flats by Linden homes.

Will try and get some pics.

Excellent stuff, could someone post all developments going on in Southampton?
I've heard there's a fair bit going on there along with Portsmouth, are there any tall proposals?
It's about time the south coast cities had more of a mention on these forums :)

What is that building being demolished just a bit further to the west of Oceana Boulevard? I go past it basically every day on the way to the Oceanography Centre but have no idea what it is.

I think the building you on about is the one I was talkin about where the crane is being installed.

It used to be the BT offices, and is called Telephone House - Linden Homes are converting it into apartments.
