OtAkAw December 16th, 2005, 05:59 PM Manila is like at war during New Year's Eve, Pyrotechnics, Firecrackers and Fireworks virtually EVERYWHERE!!!! See it to believe it, most of the entire Philippines is doing that anyway it's traditional.
DiggerD21 December 17th, 2005, 05:13 AM I guess as usual thousands of people (incl. all the idiots) gather around the Inner Alster to watch a nice firework (while the idiots throw firecrackers into the masses) or they gather at the Landungsbrücken (Landing Piers) to watch another nice firework and launch also their own ones (while all the idiots throw firecrackers into the masses). Everybody who isn't on the public mass events, is either on a private party, not in town or in one of the many commercial indoor parties. However, because I want to avoid the mass events (because of the idiots), commercial new year parties are too expensive for my taste (I don't care for the line-up) and most of my friends are either not in town or don't know where to party, I plan to celebrate new year at a private party in Berlin.

TalB December 23rd, 2005, 11:14 PM Actually, the ball dropping in Times Sq is one of the best events for NYC on New Years Eve, and it dates back to 1907 hence this will be the 98th time it will happen.

I was in Times Square six years ago for the Y2K countdown and it was definitely worth standing 20 hours outside for. It was electrifying beyond words!
I would rather watch Times Square on TV than actually attend any other celebration, be in Sydney, London, Rio, you name it.
centralized pandemonium December 25th, 2005, 03:50 AM What's happening in Tdot?

frutino82 December 26th, 2005, 02:52 PM "The first official New Year's Eve event in Germany's capital took place in 1995. It has developed over the years to become the largest Open-Air Party worldwide.
Offering peaceful people a place to party, celebrate and welcome the New Year in a unique atmosphere. It is the combination of music, light, stage shows, international stars, DJ towers, dance floors, and not least the fantastic firework display, that makes New Year's Eve in Berlin an Open-Ended Night to crown all nights."
