Safra Square is one of the largest and most important squares in Jerusalem.
The plaza built on 1993, as a part of the new city hall complex.
The original city hall of Jerusalem built at the time of the british mandat.
As the time went, the building became too small for the growing city, and in the 90's the municipalitys' departments expanded on tens of buildings all over the city.
At the new complex, 10 buildings were renovated, and 3 new buildings were built.
The plaza called after Edmond Safra, who donated the most of the money to build the new complex.
