I went to the Dal open house earlier this year and apparantly the portfolio can be any kind of visual art including photography. I would email the department and ask them, though. I think the average entry grades change from year to year (depending on how many people apply)

I'm at dal and have taken some courses. I plan on applying to the BEDS program after I finish my undergrad in Community Design. From what I understand the most important thing about the portfolio is how it looks and how everything in it is presented. I was told to never put any drawings of buildings in it (say if you designed a house or something) cause they will pick it to pieces. Your better off with drawings and art that show off your talents as a designer. I think the minimum GPA is either 2.8 or 3.1, im pretty sure its the higher one though. You also need to years of previous university study as well as a first year calculus course. And i think they are trying to get first year physics as a requirement aswell, so id try to get in before that happens!

Anyway, good luck!
