Which of these two London sightseeing methods do you like the most?
I was quite dissappointed with the bus tours. I thought the buses went to fast or that you couldn't see enough.
I absolutely loved the river cruises. They were far more relaxing and gave a wider perspective on the different London landmarks.

Yes Prezzy but that was your problem you see, theres actually only a very small amount of London youre gonna see in Edinburgh. It's ok LOlOlOllolOlLOL weve all done it, I once got on a tour bus of Tokyo thinking I was gonna see Cardiff. Christ how much money has been pumped into Wales I thought ! And I had no idea the Japanese liked the place so much

But seriously mate it all depends on which Bus tour you go on in London. There was one I want on that had live speakers only and the girl was so funny and descriptive ! Avoid the recorded tours at all cost ! that includes the awful ones on the river ! In fact the river tour really showed me that London has shunned its river frontages for too long !

Given the choice, I'd pick a river cruise without a doubt!

Go from Westminster pier, past the Embankment, the City, and Canary Wharf down to Greenwich - it's just about the best thing you can do in London.

defo!

did one from Westminster to Tower Bridge, it was great.

The commentary was good too, a guy at the front, dry humoured, taking the piss out of many buildings we passed. Not what I was expecting.

The journey itself was pleasant, smoothly going down the Thames is a lot better than stopping and starting in traffic.

Bad point is that you only see the buildings on the riverside, with a tour bus you'd see more.

I wouldnt mind either really but with a bus you get to see landmarks that can't be seen from the river. If I wanted to see as much of London and its streets as possible I'd take the bus tour but if I wanted a relaxing and more interesting tour to some extent I'd take the river.

River. Go both ways, at night, And then afterwards, just get on normal buses. You'll see more of life in london, and the hidden treasures, human drama etc etc. I find those tour buses very tacky.

even better get a cabbie (cockney optional) to give you a tour, my japanese friend did that with his family and thought it was great.

Land. Water is pretty restrictive, as you only get to see the landmarks that are on or close to the water.
