Two (well..3) buildings in Los Angeles are going to have extremely cool looking lighting displays. What do you think?
City National Plaza (By the way..the winning design will be shown next year..2006. These 2 proposals are the ones that lost.)

The Interactive Ring sits in the plaza between the twin towers. At night it rises slowly and takes its place 150 meters in the sky. It changes color and intensity in response to activity along a circular paving in the plaza below.

The Sky Mesh is suspended between the tops of the twin towers. It features a grid of LED lights space 1.5 meters apart on a steel cable grid. At night the LED lights create patterns that will appear as apparitions in the sky.
MetLofts (I talked to a guard last night about the light show (building finished construction in November) and he said the light show will start every night starting in Febuary.
This project consists of a luminous field of LED lights embedded into the entry walkway that respond to the presence of visitors; a massive display of lights on the building face that mirror the patterns of the entry; and video displays in the lobby and entry areas.

I wish more buildings did this. Very futuristic. :dj:
