the berliner fernsehturm is a tv tower with 2 obversation floors, one floor is a cafe thats rotate
368,03 m tall and the tallest building in germany
the tower has 3 lifts: 2 for "normal" passengers und the 1 for technical things
the lifts moves 6 m per second
the tower was build in 1964 in the GDR

My favourite TV-Tower in Europe. Only the lowrise buildings at the bottom of the tower don't fit. That's why I give an 8 and not a 10.

I hate it. This tower destroys Berlin's magnificent historical skyline. The way it brutally sticks in the middle of Mitte, makes me consider it as a DDR's parody of parisian Eiffel Tower. Maybe in some other city, eg. Frankfurt, arounded with skyscrapers, it could fit better... but in this very spot - No, 1/10.

When ever I see this when I fly into Berlin, I am happy in the knowledge I am about to land in Berlin. It is a great building and a classic in the skyline of Berlin. I can't imagine a Berlin without it. 9/10

Probably the finest tower in the entire universe :)
Everytime I go to Berlin I join the top and n-joy the beatiful view - Always astonishing!

I especially like Berlin during the Festival of Lights, why can't it always looks like this?? It's so amazing!

Maybe one of the best 10/10 which I ever assigned :D

East Berlin's TV Tower built by 1969, had the misfortunate effect for the ruling Communists of showing a cross when the sun shone on the dome. With the East Berlin government's supression of churches, the locals called the reflected cross the "Pope's Revenge"

I am somehow really fond of this tower. I like it's simple and sleek lines and the ball at the top is very unique. The entrance is so cool as it still retains it's communist architecture and design. Now, I'm not a fan at all of communist architecure, and it almost all situations, they look ugly and oppressive. But somehow this one really works.

It's location is fantastic on one hand being between Alexanderplatz and a park, but on the other the generally unrelated building around the base forms a barrier between Alexanderplatz and the park.

Well, maybe its a bit patriotism, but I do think, this Tower was a fantastic addition, to the unique Skyline of Berlin. It markes the center of the city and looks great from all distances an angles. One of only few positive achitectonal additions in the GDR.

Also a timeless Design I think.
