I've heard through a really good source that a clock will emerge from behind the scaffolding... It was part of the original approved design and EVERYTHING done so far has been exactly as originally specified. We will see a clock emerge very soon.

I saw lights on behind the scaffolding last night as work was taking place specifically in that area :cheers:

Its funny how so many people say this tower is ugly and a bad design, When it resembles The Big Ben which is quite nice in design. I'm not saying there the exact same thing... but but they resemble each other too much to say that this one turns stomachs and the other dosn't.

How dare you compare a treasure like Big Ben to this crap!!! I can't find any good qualities in it.

^^ This tower was designed to look like Big Ben. The developer went as far as getting a non-objection from the British Parliament.

It is certainly not a beauty though, but the biggest problem it has is the wrong choice of cladding on the bottom part, something you can't even judge by the pictures. The top is the best part of the tower.

Hmm, what is that half-circle on the side? Is that a clock thing?

BIG BEN is the name for the large bell inside the tower. The tower is called Westminster Tower... but Big Ben is more catchy so thats why everyone calls it that :)

This looks nothing like it. But I agree with Altin, the top is the best part.

Julito if you click on the link to a high resolution picture you can see a more detailed view. I think that this might actually be a clock, but I am still not convinced. We will just have to wait and see.

There is no clock up there as of now. There's something rectangular visible on the middle of the circle, but I doubt it would be the mechanism of the clock. However, the protective net that was removed, it has been put back so now it has become again difficult to understand what's really going on.

the circle that we all saw is for the clock mechancism, and the clock face will be positioned on top of it surounding the rectangle panels.

It looks like there will be a clock after all. They could also go with a LED display for the clock and save all the hassle with the huge mechanism.

The latest pic of Park Towers in the completed section seems to be taken at an angle which if you ask me kind of looks like clock hands on this building.

I think there is a good chance it will be a clock. Why would that part of the building be fully covered for so long? Another question is why would there be 4 circles resembling a clock on each side of the tower. If this was Islamic calligraphy, it would be more interesting and definitely more creative. I give this a 80/20 for it being a clock. :)

The clock can save this tower from being one of the worst on szr.
