ETA Star Projects LLC, which is a part of ETA Ascon Group, has revealed the 'Dubai Lifestyle City' project, which it is planning to develop in Dubailand, with an investment of AED 1 billion.
It will host the world famous 'IMG Sports Academy', which will be coming to the region for the first time.
The City, which will sprawl over an area of 4 million square feet, will start to rise off the ground at the end of the coming year and will be completed by the year 2007.
The Dubai Lifestyle City concept fits in well the future plans and ambitious vision of the Dubailand project. The new City aims to provide a new and unique lifestyle to its residents and visitors, within a calm and natural environment.
'ETA Star Projects LLC' has formed an exclusive partnership with IMG Academy, an international pioneer in the field of managing sports activities, to create the first international sports academy in Dubai. The IMG Academy will include the famous Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy and David Leadbetter Golf Academics, allowing tennis and golf fans a great opportunity to learn and excel in these sports.
Salem Bin Dasmal, Chief Executive Officer of Dubailand said:
'The launch of this project comes in line with the various modern lifestyles offered by Dubailand. These are reflected through a series of unique development projects catering to different family tourism sectors and creating a unique value proposition excelling even the most sophisticated global standards.'
'We work in Dubailand on strengthening our relations with the private sector companies, and enabling them to take an active role in the overall growth of the economy. This is because we believe in providing promising investment opportunities, while the private sector handles the role of developing these opportunities and creating pioneering projects like the Dubai Lifestyle City project.
Ted Meekma, Senior Vice President and Co-director of IMG Academies stated, 'There is no doubt that our cooperation with ETA Star Projects and our presence at Dubai Lifestyle City will provide students from all over the region the opportunity to get the best sports training by professional academics of high capabilities in the IMG corporation. We are proud to launch this initiative for the first time in the Middle East.'
Arif Rahman, Director of Finance of ETA Ascon Group said: 'The new project reflects ETA's constant commitment to support the development of society's various sectors in the UAE. We are proud to launch this ambitious project in Dubailand, which provides diverse sophisticated lifestyles.'
The Dubai Lifestyle City will consist of a 7-star hotel including a sports centre and a luxurious health club measuring around 20,000 square feet. The club will offer various healing alternative techniques, including 'Eurofeda', 'Tai Chi', Aromatherapy, massage and other services, in addition to the exclusive Chalets at the club that would be operated by the hotel.
Rahman concluded by saying, 'Since the past three decades, ETA Ascon Group is careful about bringing the best experiences of various fields to the UAE. We are very pleased to be a part of Dubailand project and we reaffirm our commitment to provide all the necessary services that go in line with the status of Dubai and the UAE.'

United Arab Emirates: 16 minutes ago
In a move unprecedented in the history of property sector in the region, ETA will rope into the project as partners some of the most respected international brands in a variety of fields to give it a special touch of efficacy, exclusivity and credibility, including JW Marriott and IMG Academies,
Tony Ashai, the celebrated Beverley Hills designer, will design Dubai Lifestyle City in the famed Tuscany style of architecture, reminiscent of the renaissance. The entire enclave, including homes, hotels and other facilities, will be integrated across the spectrum with a digital datacenter to manage all communications systems - telephone, cable, satellite TV, audio and security - and this will make every unit a fully self-sufficient high speed network.
An excited Arif Buhary Rahman, Managing Director Dubai Lifestyle City, said that the project symbolized the full potential of Dubai as the world's top destination for the future. 'Dubai Lifestyle City is a creative experiment with the endless possibilities that Dubai offers. Once completed, we are confident that Dubai Lifestyle City will become a historic benchmark, offering an enclave of near-perfection and a lifestyle that combines all the best in the world into an integrated experience,' explained Rahman, adding that he was grateful to the varied partners for associating with this exclusive project
On his part, Mohammed Al Habbai, CEO of Dubailand, stated that Dubai Lifestyle City, truly reflected the standards that Dubailand aspired for. 'We are delighted to assert that Dubai Lifestyle City will not only be the first-class lifestyle complex that it will indeed become, but also one of the major attractions that pull people from all over the world in the direction of Dubailand. 'Dubailand is all about themed clusters and I am happy to note that Dubai Lifestyle City has lived up to our expectations on that count. I would like to express my deep sense of admiration for the futuristic vision that underlines a project of this scale, which more than complements the other big ideas being actualized in Dubailand' he concluded.
Dubai Lifestyle City will cover a land area of over four million square feet and aims at the creation of a self-sufficient lifestyle community surrounded by fine hotels, spas, sports academies and other amenities, digitally connected to each other. It will have 68 Tuscan-themed villas and 120 villettes, all designed in a way that replicates every single detail of Tuscany architecture, with its earthiness going well with the desert surroundings. Dubai Lifestyle City encompasses nearly everything in terms of luxuries, digital facilities, sports training and recreational opportunities, word-class hotels, fashion, art, theatre and shopping. A shopping mall that sprawls over 100,000 square feet will cater to the shopping requirements of the residents, making available all the finest brands under one roof.

THE DUBAI GUYS May 29th, 2007, 08:56 AM Tuscany lifestyle for the rich and famous

Dubai-based ETA Group is targeting high and ultra high net worth individuals for its Dubai Lifestyle City in Dubailand, which was officially launched yesterday.
The project, announced in January 2006 with a value of Dh1 billion, is now pegged at Dh2.4bn.
ETA executives said that was due to additional luxury components and the increased cost of construction.
“We didn’t want to launch a project on paper. Now, we have all the approvals and so we have launched it. Taking into account the increase in construction cost and the added luxury components, its value has gone up,” said Raza Siddiqui, Executive Director of Lifestyle City.
Covering more than four million sq ft, Lifestyle City will have 68 Tuscan-themed villas and 120 ‘villettes’ besides sports and recreational facilities such as a golf course, auditorium and theatre.
ETA has tied up with brands such as JW Marriott and IMG Academies, while Microsoft and Cisco will provide the backbone for a digital lifestyle, the company said.
Lifestyle City will contain a 170-room JW Marriott, a 150room Courtyard, and a 100,000-sq-ft shopping mall.
Beverley Hills designer Tony Ashai has designed the Tuscany style of architecture for the city, which is reminiscent of the Renaissance era.
“It is for the rich and famous. People can buy property in Lifestyle City on invitation only,” said Arif B Rahman, Managing Director of Lifestyle City.
The villas are priced between Dh20 million and Dh40m. “We will complete the project in July 2009,” Rahman said.

Sander- October 10th, 2007, 10:00 PM How large are these? I would have expected even more from the $10+ ones. After all, in my country, Norway, you would get something close to a castle when you get into that price tag. (:
Edit: Love the devlopment though. Wouldn't mind living there :) Also love how DubaiLand will be with all these paradise communities with their own look and feel lying around in close proxomity to all these world class huge attractions!
Edit2: Almost 20k sq. feet built up area over 3 floors on the tizzano... I withdraw my comment :)

Now now Naz, jealousy will get you ZERO points!:D After all, I didn't pay for it - my mother did! Her passion in life is her children and amassing land! Just like my father! I grew up with parents who did nothing but accumulate land and property. The house was for my 21st birthday, but it was also an investment for my future. It's no big deal, just a mother doing her best for the future of her children. Just as I do for my girls.:)
Sold that Villa three years ago now, just got fed up with all the stupid arseholes moving into the neighbourhood!:bash: And some other reasons too... In the end it was a great investment!:)

Hey phillybud :) You're absolutely right of course, there are many many Villas like these all over the place in Florida, I suppose it's just a matter of taste and location for some people. These particular Villas in DLC are very expensive and a lot smaller compared with what you could buy in Florida, or other states in the U.S. for the same money. You can get a lot of house in the states for relatively small money (compared with say the U.K./Europe for instance). Then again, if you have the cash then you can get whatever you want wherever you want. I think the Villas on Palm Jumeirah are worth it though...simply because of the amazing location!
Your home sounds so nice:) You can't buy that kind of class huh? "McMansions" That's a good one!

Thanks for the kind words. My home is very Victorian in style, 19 of the 39 windows are leaded stained glass windows, there are three fireplaces, one has the original ornate mantel with greek ionic columns flanking the fireplace itself, which is lined with the original English Minton tiles imported from Stoke-On-Trent, England (very popular in the 1880s and 90s); the house has six bedrooms but only three bathrooms, one on each floor. There is a main staircase, made of oak, which winds in a nearly oval shape that you can stand on the main floor and look straight up three stories; a narrow "servants staircase" is in the back part of the house and leads from the kitchen to the second floor. The ceilings are 10 1/2 feet high. In the formal dining room I have a 15 branch crystal chandelier than contains over 800 crystal pendants dripping from it. So, you see I've been trying to restore the original late nineteenth century sense of Victorian opulence and grandeur to the place.
By the way, it costs a fortune to heat in the winter!

You're welcome:)
I can see your home is a real labour of love...nice to see that with some people it's not all about show and prestige. Sounds wonderful. I do love those old victorians...they've got a lot character. I take it you live in Philadelphia right? hence phillybud) Yeah, I can see why your winter heating bills would be so high then! Price you have to pay though huh!?

Yes, I live in the University City section of Philadelphia - just over the Schuykill River about a mile and a half to City Hall and Center City. Only five blocks away is the University of Pennsylvania, an "Ivy League" college founded by Benjamin Franklin in the eighteenth century - also the place where the first computer was invented! Within a ten minute walk from my home is Drexel University, USP (University of the Sciences, Philadelphia) - the oldest pharmacy college in America, and two or three other colleges.
So there are lots of college students around!

Maria Sharapova launches Dhs2.4bn Dubai Lifestyle City
November 15, 2007
Middle East Company News
Celebrated tennis player Maria Sharapova officially launched ETA Star Group's iconicDhs2.4bn lifestyle project the Dubai Lifestyle City (DLC) in Dubailand, the region's largest tourism, leisure, entertainment and lifestyle destination.
Alongside the launch, Maria Sharapova also inaugurated the Dubai Lifestyle City Wall of Fame, one of the many unique attractions that will mark the project
'It gives us immense pleasure to inform you all that 40% of the project - 87 units in total - has already been sold out during the preview. The total value of the units already sold out has exceeded Dhs1bn. We are expecting sales to pick up at a much faster pace after today's launch event,'said Arif B Rahman, Managing Director, Dubai Lifestyle City.
He added, 'We invited Maria Sharapova to launch the project to investors because Maria represents the concept of haute living personified by Dubai Lifestyle City. She epitomizes the success, style and standard that a Dubai Lifestyle City home-owner would aspire for. Plus with her strong ties with the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy and IMG Academies, she can identify with the benefits it brings to an aspiring athlete.'
Maria Sharapova Tennis Star said, 'I am honored to be invited as the Guest of Honor for the Dubai Lifestyle City launch. The project looks gorgeous with its Tuscan style architecture; JW Marriott serviced villas and the first of a kind digital community created by Microsoft. In addition I can say from experience that having an institution like IMG Academies in your back-yard is an excellent opportunity for all aspiring athletes in the region.'
'My ties with the IMG Academies are extensive, going back as old as when I was nine years old. I trained and grew up at the Academy. Now as IMG becomes a part of Dubai Lifestyle City's realty offering I like the idea of the impact it will have on the sports enthusiasts and athletes in the region. Obviously, it is not only meant for athletes like me. Dubai Lifestyle City residents, members and guests of all ages and abilities can benefit from the IMG Academies, Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy and David Leadbetter Golf Academy.'
Mohammed Al Habbai, Chief Executive Officer, DubailandTM, said,'As one of the key components of Dubailand, the unique offerings at Dubai Lifestyle City will further augment our profile as the region's most ambitious leisure and entertainment destination. As more projects go online at our mega complex, we will continue to ensure our offerings match the best in breed across similar locations worldwide.' </blockquote>
Dubai Lifestyle City, based in Dubailand sprawling over an area of four million square feet, is envisaged as a unique destination that offers its residents and visitors an enchanting lifestyle within a calm and natural environment.
Expressing his happiness at the opening of an IMGA branch in DLC, Jamal Pritchard, International Business Development Manager, IMG Academies, said, 'Historically we have seen the value proposition of a residential community close to the IMG Academies grow exponentially. This is primarily because families wanting to train their children find it ideal to relocate permanently close to the Academy. However, now with the Academy located within a multi-dimensional residential community like Dubai Lifestyle City, this proposition is amplified manifolds. Our various sports training activities will be useful for not just aspiring athletes, but also lay health enthusiasts who want to lead a healthy and dynamic lifestyle,' he added.
The project partners include some of the most respected international brands to give it a special touch of efficacy, exclusivity and credibility, including JW Marriott, IMG Academies, Cisco and Microsoft. Tony Ashai, the celebrated Beverley Hills designer, has designed Dubai Lifestyle City in the famed Tuscany style of architecture, reminiscent of the renaissance. It will consist of 68 signature villas and 120 apartments; all branded as JW Marriott Residences.
IMG Academies, which houses Maria Sharapova's alma mater Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, is partnering with Dubai Lifestyle City to set up the first branch of the famed academy outside the United States. Until recently, Sharapova lived most of the year near the IMG training facility in Bradenton. The ace sports institution, known for training the likes of Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Maria Sharapova and Monica Seles, will for the first time through Dubai Lifestyle City make available to the region world-class training facilities for all sports, particularly tennis and golf.

Dubaiiscool:) September 3rd, 2009, 09:42 AM Dubai: The three Marriott hotels being built in Dubai Lifestyle City are set to hit 80 per cent occupancy when they open, according to the project's managing director.
The hotels include the five-star JW Marriott with 170 rooms including chalets, the four star 150-room Marriott Courtyard and the 46 Marriott Executive Apartments.
"We have a healthy RevPAR (revenue per available room) and we expect between 70 to 80 per cent occupancy," Arif Rahman, managing director, told Gulf News, without giving further details on expected revenues.
These hotels will be crucial in Marriott's aim to increase its Middle East hotel room supply by more than 250 per cent over the next few years, the hotel chain said on its website.
While other projects in Dubailand have suffered delays in their construction, Dubai Lifestyle City is progressing well, due to its relatively small and manageable size, said Arif Rahman, the project's managing director.
The pipework is all being laid now, the electricity and water substations are done and the roads are almost complete, Rahman added.
Due to the partnership with Marriott, the residential portion of the development will be named the JW Marriott Residences.
While quality of construction has been a familiar gripe in Dubai among residents of certain projects, quality, security and safety in the residences will be in line with Marriott's international standards.
Though Dubai Municipality says you don't need sprinkler systems in villas or apartments, Marriott will be installing sprink-lers in the residences, explained Raza Siddiqui, executive director.
There will be 68 villas, with five different types ranging from 10,000 square feet built-up area to 20,000 square feet.
Each villa theme is also given a name, such as Siena, in line with the Tuscan theme of the project.
There will be 120 regular, duplex and penthouse apartments and the construction contract has already been awarded to Saleh Constructions.
Around 500 people are now working onsite.
The project sits on four million square feet of land and is the brain child of ETA Star Group.
Construction is due to start on the JW Marriott and the IMG Academies this month with the entire project due for completion by the end of 2012 and the show home open in February 2010.
Two main artery roads, aside from Emirates Road, will ensure that traffic isn't an issue for residents or visitors to the development.
Despite the global financial downturn which has had a significant impact on Dubai's own property sector, including an easing of real estate prices and rents, Rahman is confident that the sales prices for properties in Dubai Lifestyle City are appropriate.
About 50 per cent of the residential units have been sold so far.
"Even in the good times we were never overpriced. We discouraged speculators and investors&so we're not too high and we're not too low," Rahman said.
However, the average price for a villa is between Dh20 million and Dh40 million. The average price for an apartment is Dh5 million to Dh8 million.
Defaults have occurred only "sparingly", said Rahman.
Aside from the residences and the hotels, there will be the IMG Academies which will consist of a tennis academy, a golf academy and seven swimming pools, including an Olympic sized pool, a dive pool, a leisure pool and one specifically for women and children.
There will also be a small retail centre, office space, an auditorium and a large greenhouse because what people miss in this region is water and greenery, said Rahman.

celticmonkey September 4th, 2009, 07:42 AM 68 villas my ass. They are only building 15 villas and the balance will "be completed some time in the future!". Again the biggest load of crap.
50% of units sold! we were not priced too high?? they launched this in the boom and only sold 50%.
"Defaults have occured sparingly"!
Quite possibly the biggest bunch of jokers. The security gaurd in their office gets your blood boiling before you even meet any one there!!!

Dubailand has awarded the construction work of its JW Marriott Hotel to Saleh Constructions, part of the Saleh Bin Lahej Group, it was announced on Monday.
The hotel will have 170 rooms including 48 royal to super deluxe chalets, 68 guest rooms, three restaurants, a 5,000 sq ft ballroom and a 25,000 sq ft spa, the company said after a ground breaking ceremony.
Saleh Constructions has already started construction of the 68 Tuscan-themed villas and 120 villettes which have been conceived by Tony Ashai, the celebrated Beverley Hills designer, it said in a statement.
It added that the project's network infrastructure work was complete and will become a key part of Dubai Lifestyle City, the ETA Star project which will be built over a sprawling 4 million sq ft enclave.
Arif B Rahman, managing director for Dubai Lifestyle City, said: "The luxury hotel is a very important component of Dubai Lifestyle City and beginning of its construction work marks an important milestone for the project."
Jeff Strachan, area director of Sales and Marketing, Middle East & Africa, Marriott, added: "We are delighted that Saleh Constructions have commenced work on the JW Marriott Dubai Lifestyle City. The entire Dubai Lifestyle City is a unique project and once complete will set a new benchmark for luxury living."

Dubai : With its infrastructure work done, Dubai Lifestyle City (DLC) is set to be complete by the end of 2011 or first quarter of 2012.
DLC is a comprehensive lifestyle project conceptualised and executed by ETA Star Group.
The project's network infrastructure work has been completed.
This includes completion of the road networks, telecommunication, surface water drainage, sewage network, irrigation networks, fire-fighting system, street lighting and portable water network.
The project was officially inaugurated in 2006.
Haute living
"The project seeks to promote a unique concept of haute living that encompasses nearly everything in terms of luxuries, digital facilities, sports training and recreational opportunities, word-class hotels, fashion, art, theatre and shopping," Raza Seddiqi, executive director, DLC, said.
DLC will have 68 Tuscan-themed villas and 120 villettes or apartments, all conceived by Beverley Hills designer Tony Ashai.
So far, 60 per cent of the property has been sold. Saleh Constructions has already started construction of the units.
DLC has entered into partnerships with JW Marriott, IMG Academies, Microsoft and Cisco.
"Dubai Lifestyle City offers luxury within a gated community. Its alliance with a respected and renowned world-class brand such as the JW Marriott Hotel validates its positioning as a luxury development," Mohammad Al Habbai, Senior Vice President at Dubailand, said.
JW Marriott is developing the living component of DLC as the first JW Marriott branded residential property worldwide.
Besides, JW Marriott will run three separate, yet integrated lodging facilities to fulfill all the requirements of the visitors to the city.
The 170-room JW Marriott Hotel, the 152-room Courtyard by Marriott, and the 46-unit Marriott Executive Apartments, will be available to the visitors to DLC.
The ground-breaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction was held on December 1. Multi-sport conglomerate IMG Academies (IMGA) will open its first ever branch outside the US in DLC.
These will include the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy and the David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
"We believe that the recent developments will not have any major impact on our project.
"Dubai will always remain a great destination for tourists and residents alike as it offers fantastic packages to visitors and lucrative opportunities for investors," Seddiqi said.

Dubai tennis and golf academies scrapped
by Shane McGinley
The Nick Bollettieri and David Leadbetter branded sports academies, which were to be based at Dubai Lifestyle City in Dubailand, have been officially scrapped, Arabian Business has learnt.
Dubai-based developer ETA Star Group struck a deal in 2007 with US-based IMG Academies to develop a range of branded academies at the AED2.4bn ($653m) Dubai Lifestyle City (DLC) in Dubailand, including the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy and David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
“The project being developed in Dubai by ETA Star is no longer affiliated with IMG and has no jurisdiction to operate under the IMG, IMG Academies or Nick Bollettieri name/brand,” a spokesperson from IMG Academies confirmed to Arabian Business.
IMG Academies is a sports education and training facility based in Bradenton, Florida and consists of The Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, The David Leadbetter Golf Academy, the IMG Baseball, IMG Basketball, IMG Soccer, IMG Lacrosse and IMG Football Academies, and the IMG Performance Institute.
The Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy was set up in 1978 and the legendary coach has masterminded the careers of Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Maria Sharapova and Monica Seles. Initially due to be completed in 2009, the Dubai academy in DLC was to be the first Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy outside the US.
In 1983, the first David Leadbetter Golf Academy was established and there are currently 28 academies in thirteen countries, with the Dubai outpost intended to become the first in the Middle East.
However, the latest statement from IMG Academies confirms that it has severed links with ETA Star and DLC.
When ETA Star was contacted by Arabian Business its spokesperson said it would not be making any comment, and would not confirm or deny the status of the sports academies at DLC.
