Awaterside village, a multi-functional business park and a 20-storey office tower are among the diverse projects that are being developed by Sredco (Saudi Real Estate Development Company), a Jeddah-based specialised and professional real estate group and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alesayi Group of Companies.

The company is creating the 1 million sq m Jeddah South Corniche, a waterside development along the coast at the South Cornice Road. It is located some 40 km south of Jeddah and can be accessed from the new Jeddah to Jizan highway.
The project involves land forming around natural lagoons, which will provide access to the Red Sea for the development of residential, commercial and recreational components.
“The objective is to create a village or a small-town ‘oasis’ environment with sufficient facilities to attract and stimulate private residential development, supported by attractive public recreational and commercial amenities to serve both residents and visitors,” says John Alexander, business development consultant for Sredco.
“The public areas will appeal to all visitors, but special emphasis will be on families with children. A hotel and marina will be at the heart of the commercial area,” he adds.
The Business Village includes commercial and office elements that will be developed on a 34,000 sq m plot overlooking the Red Sea coast and the Jeddah Islamic Port. Erga, an architectural practice based in Beirut, Lebanon, has been selected to design the project, which will be located next to the new Jeddah Municipality headquarters building. Construction work on the development – which will boast a number of glass-clad high-rises featuring an ultra-modern architectural style – is planned to start this summer.

Anas, I'm sorry, I really don't have any other pictures. As for the one that has been made available, I believe this is how the project is going to look like. The source of info was Gulf Construction Online, which I believe is pretty accurate. Probably the best be to get other pictures is to have someone go out to the location and take a picture of the construction site and any pictures they might have put up. It seems like a large project though.

The business village next to the municipality sounds familiar. Never heard about the lagoons south of Jeddah, and I don't think it's a good idea.

As for malls, I'm with you Saudi guy. I'm getting tired of all these malls mushrooming.

Jeddah's a hugely marginalized city....sorry to some, but i think this city has potential like no other in Kingdom but day after day its condition is deterioting. Jeddah needs huge projects like the "economic cities". I think King Abdullah Economic City should have been made in Jeddah which already has world's 27th busiest seaport and it could hav been expanded. I mean how many sea ports and airports are they goin to hav along the Red Sea. Jeddah, Jizan and Rabigh, all having huge seaports and newly planned airports. Extremely poor thinking i suppose.....Your comments.....

^^ Nothing wrong with building new cities especially with the exponential growth of Saudi population. Also nothing wrong with having more ports on the red sea. For such a long shoreline and a large population, 3 ports is not really enough. What I would like to see happening is a major face lift to Jeddah, especially on transportation infstructure. They should build new highways, fix the existing ones, rebuild and expand the airport and maybe build a metro.
