Built in 1985, it's just 83 meters tall but the appearance is somewhat unique. The architect wanted the building to reflect the modernization of banking procedures and therefore made the building in the shape of a robot, complete with eyes, ears, antennaes and wheels.

Like how you always have these "fantastic" ideas at three in the morning, so you actually think to write it down, then in the morning, you read it, and it says something such as, "People get fat because they eat too much." Yeah, but having them on the toilet doesn't count. I get great ideas there!

Ironically, it's now 3.33 local time, and I haven't gone to bed yet, so no, I won't be having any dumb ideas now. Wait...oh, nevermind.

Alright I guess. Not the greatest.

It was built for more than 10 yrs ago. otherwise the design might have been better. I still like the idea though.

nice try though. why not destroy this old structure and make a new robot building which would be more robot looking, taller, more impressive and more modern. maybe this time it wont disappoint us.

funny looking tower, I used to live right across this tower so I saw it from my balcony everyday and also saw it from toe till top while traveling in the glas elevator, it looked kinda cool from the front so I give it a 6.5

The Bank of Asia was designed in the mid-1980's by Sumet Jumsai in Bangkok, Thailand.
A Ph.D. in Architecture at the Cambridge University in the United States, Jumsai was commissioned by the head of The Bank of Asia to create a building that would "reflect [upon] the new generation,their own, and usher in a new era involving their new computerized banking service."
The Robot Building is selected by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles as one of the 50 seminal buildings of the century, and which forms part of the museums permanent collection after a world-wide travelling exhibition beginning in 1998 called End of the Century.
