Using logic from all those plants, it's only natural to assume that the air is polluted, but to what extent? I heard stories of it being very horrible, but just how bad is the air in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Luhansk?

I have no idea..But like you said I would imagine quite bad...It cant be good for the peoples health...Im sure around 50/60% of the people in Eastern Ukraine (And alot of Ukraine for that matter) smoke as well, which probably makes the air only worse.

It's nothing close to horrible. You can measure it by some devices but by simply walking there you won't know the difference. It's a bit different in smaller, highly industrial cities and in places around plants. But generally in downtown of Dnipropetrovsk, for instance, you shouldn't worry about it.

Thats good, but another problem in Eastern Ukraine is that it seems like the other than the central huge cities, everything around, the urban area is a dump. I heard that 4 bedroom apartment in Chernihiv is only around $15-20,000. Compared to how much a 3 bedroom apartment costs in L'viv this is change.

How smart would it be to invest in Eastern Ukraine? The West already has a boom, and a 3 bedroom apartment in Truskavets costs anywhere from 25-45 thousand depending on the location.

Well, we know one thing for certain. The cleanest part of Ukraine is the countryside.

No, villages are almost identical on west and east.

Chernihiv is much smaller than Lviv, and as a region, it's wealthier than Lviv region. And it's north, not east.

I was using Chernihiv as just an example, its the same thing in Donetsk, apartments are 12-20$ thousand in central parts of the city, L'viv central apartments range from $50-150 thousand

So basically you didn't want to discuss ecological conditions in other regions, but wanted to show how Lviv is superior to other cities?

Surely apartments in big Eastern cities like Dnipropetrovsk, Donec'k, etc are more then in Lviv....Maybe Im wrong though.

Don't try to put words in my mouth, when Im trying to find whats going on in the East. I heard nightmare stories about Donetsk air. That if you go out where the Shaxtas are located the air is an orange color, same going for Dnipropetrovsk and Luhansk. Chernihiv was mentioned because it has many plants surrounding it as well. And this is easily the reason why the prices in the Eastern cities are soo cheap, that or the surrounding area of the cities are just dumps.

Besides I don't have to make L'viv look anymore superior than what it already is. It might not be a cash crop like the Eastern cities, but it's a historical place where its always pleasant to visit
