Is Sheikh Mohamad Hamad Al Mana the King's brother?

Qatar4Ever
January 28th, 2006, 09:24 PM
??
who??

What king??

dave550
January 29th, 2006, 08:20 AM
We don't have a king in Qatar. And if you meant the prince then no. The prince's last name is Al-Thani not Al-Mana.

Well, they look really big! I mean they are very wide. But they are kinda short. They still need some more time to rise...

dave550
May 23rd, 2006, 10:55 PM
^^But they only gonna rise 3-4 more floors

omarmakki
May 23rd, 2006, 10:58 PM
Well, I can't see clearly.
But I think that there are only 8 floors done. That's half the tower.

dave550
May 23rd, 2006, 11:16 PM
no it's like 11 or 12. There are few floors on the base

omarmakki
May 23rd, 2006, 11:37 PM
Are you sure that the base counts to the towers' floors?

All you guys are thinking of the Sheikh Suheim Bin Hamad road... Al Sadd road is perfectly fine and there are no towers being constructed there. Currently, there are two other buildings being constructed on the road if I recall correctly - La Cigale and another tower, forgot its name. An older building is also being renovated.

Dave, they just opened up a chunck of the road yesterday, but the rest should open soon--maybe within a month. Its almost complete--except for a tiny portion.

I don't know if you guys paid attention to this detail, but next to Al Mana towers there is this old ugly concrete building (visible on previous pages of this thread), it is being entirely covered by a new cladding, it makes the tower look brand new! Almost magic! ; )

it's Al-Obaidly tower, one of the oldest & probably first modern towers in doha, along with Al-Tadamon (Al-Malki) tower.
i love the new look of the tower.

Qatar Son 333
November 26th, 2007, 03:11 PM
cool i love it since the old one wasent that good btw i also think its completed :D

btw in you pictures massilia there seems to be a new tower next to almana towers or is that just a new single storey shop ?

Massilia
November 27th, 2007, 09:15 PM
^^ it's a 8-storey residential, but there is no render on the project board, and it's getting built behind the single storey shops (restaurants) you are talking about. So I guess these will stay (they are nice by the way!)

Halawala: the Al Mana towers are lighted at night, and you can see they are working on the interior finishings, you can especially notice how dirty the glasses are as of now! Will need a serious clean up but overall they don't look bad I guess : )

Wakrah-wi-bas: what is Al Tadamon - Al Malki tower?

Wakrah-wi-bas: what is Al Tadamon - Al Malki tower?

it's on B-ring road (known as al-handassa street), south of al-jaidah tower, opposite Hafsa school for girls, u can't miss it.
it was named after its owner, Ahmed al-Malki, one of the richest men in the country during the 70's & 80's, but died, and left behind him a huge debt that estimated at QR 200,000,000. he invited me once for lunch in his office at the rooftop of the tower in 1993. of course the view wasn't as i will call "panoramic" or "breathtaking", judging from the surrounding area at that time!

Ok I clearly see which building it is now...it could easily be customized to something cool :P I had a talk about that with someone today and I was told the tower belongs to the heirs of Ahmed al Malki (his son is the manager of Al Khaliji bank). Anyway that area in 1993...I would have paid to see that! : )

Hello everybody, this is my first post outside the other introduce yourself thread, i went to this complex today and entered the shopping mall, its named (The Boulevard) and its icon (symbol) is 2 towers connected by a podium (mana towers haha).
even though the Mall didnt fully open and has a long way to go it seems like a nice city mall that seems it will attract alot of attention since they have "Bhs" there !!! other shops that opened include "unitd colours of benetton", "sunglass hut", "Womens secret", and another decoration shop that i cant remmember... the cafes include "the coffe bean" and "Glorias coffe".... (did i mix the names ? not sure myself) but it was a nice double floor mall, the parking building could be accesable through the second floor via bridge...
