Qatar4Ever January 15th, 2006, 07:53 PM Very good location.
superinfiniti January 23rd, 2006, 04:37 PM this one is already under construction. I think they reached 4th floor.
dave550 January 24th, 2006, 05:52 AM it doesn't look unique or anything, just a usual design
dave550 January 24th, 2006, 05:54 AM Oh this is gonna be in al sad!! I have a question, anybody has been to Al-Sad road lately?? How does it look like? Did they make any changes or are they still making the roads
Qatar4Ever January 24th, 2006, 08:02 PM Al Sadd will soon turn into a true downtown area !!
dave550 January 25th, 2006, 09:10 PM how! Why? is there a lot of construction going on in there?
How about al naser?
Qatar4Ever January 28th, 2006, 08:41 PM Same thing, al nasser will become like a very famous strip. Sort of like Las Vegas strip of Hollywood blvd. hehe !!
Portugues January 28th, 2006, 08:54 PM Is Sheikh Mohamad Hamad Al Mana the King's brother?
Qatar4Ever January 28th, 2006, 09:24 PM ??
who??
What king??
dave550 January 29th, 2006, 08:20 AM We don't have a king in Qatar. And if you meant the prince then no. The prince's last name is Al-Thani not Al-Mana.
Halawala May 22nd, 2006, 03:00 AM Its in the construction pics. i'll post it here again so we have the renders in the same page.
http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/403/constructionphotos0534og.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
dave550 May 22nd, 2006, 05:07 AM ^^This building is sooo small
Halawala May 22nd, 2006, 11:38 AM It actually doesnt in real life, but my pic quality is very poor since i took it in the night from Applebees restaurant which was just opposite. :) I'll try to take better pics.
omarmakki May 23rd, 2006, 01:01 AM Well, they look really big! I mean they are very wide. But they are kinda short. They still need some more time to rise...
dave550 May 23rd, 2006, 10:55 PM ^^But they only gonna rise 3-4 more floors
omarmakki May 23rd, 2006, 10:58 PM Well, I can't see clearly.
But I think that there are only 8 floors done. That's half the tower.
dave550 May 23rd, 2006, 11:16 PM no it's like 11 or 12. There are few floors on the base
omarmakki May 23rd, 2006, 11:37 PM Are you sure that the base counts to the towers' floors?
dave550 May 23rd, 2006, 11:48 PM Yeah I think so. Look it
amrja May 25th, 2006, 12:17 AM All you guys are thinking of the Sheikh Suheim Bin Hamad road... Al Sadd road is perfectly fine and there are no towers being constructed there. Currently, there are two other buildings being constructed on the road if I recall correctly - La Cigale and another tower, forgot its name. An older building is also being renovated.
salman515 May 25th, 2006, 12:48 AM La Cigale and another tower, forgot its name. An older building is also being renovated.
the other tower is almana` . ur talking n its thread :)
Halawala May 25th, 2006, 06:49 PM This picture I took while driving alone and I couldnt get a clear shot but this is the best shot given the traffic on that road ;) I'll try to get a clearer shot--but I think you can see the point of this picture.
http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/8338/image000922fe.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
dave550 May 28th, 2006, 07:45 AM ^^It's clear enough. Thanx for the pic. I heard that they are making traffic signals in there, is it true?
Halawala May 28th, 2006, 10:47 AM Yes, dave they are going to add traffic lights to Al-Sadd R/A and Shoora R/A soon. They are completing the road (which is a complete mess now)
omarmakki May 28th, 2006, 02:12 PM Thanks for the new picture Halawala...
dave550 May 29th, 2006, 02:48 AM Yes, dave they are going to add traffic lights to Al-Sadd R/A and Shoora R/A soon. They are completing the road (which is a complete mess now)
Are they going to be done witht hem b4 the games??
And what will happen to Television R/A
salman515 May 29th, 2006, 05:04 AM ^^ suhim road should be ready in july. airport signals should be ready too in same time
zx May 29th, 2006, 10:40 AM Suhaim road may be ready in July, but Airport road...Hmmm...I don't think so, do you?.
salman515 May 29th, 2006, 07:10 PM ^^ lool i ment the signal only not the road
dave550 May 29th, 2006, 10:30 PM Then when is the road going to be completed??
Halawala June 1st, 2006, 03:48 PM Dave, they just opened up a chunck of the road yesterday, but the rest should open soon--maybe within a month. Its almost complete--except for a tiny portion.
Photo taken from the newly-opened road section:

Qatar Son 333 June 3rd, 2007, 05:12 PM nice picture of the area massilia i really like it although its still out-dated but defenetly nice
(suzan if its not old style then soon all the Qatari population will forget there hertaige our culter or even our relegion and spend all the rest of our stinkin lives going to the bar getting drunk all time taking drugs and lots of suicide !!! let the tower look like that   :ohno:)
suzan June 4th, 2007, 09:14 AM ^^ That doesn't make sense at all... It's like, have an ugly tower so that the country doesnt get drunk? No relation at all!!!!!!

Halawala June 17th, 2007, 05:05 PM guys would you please remind me......is this a hotel or appartments.......?
One tower will be residential complexes and the other will be offices. :)
Massilia November 25th, 2007, 10:44 PM I don't know if you guys paid attention to this detail, but next to Al Mana towers there is this old ugly concrete building (visible on previous pages of this thread), it is being entirely covered by a new cladding, it makes the tower look brand new! Almost magic! ; )

Halawala November 25th, 2007, 11:18 PM ^^ Yeah! Thanks for the photos, but these two twin towers are complete? No?
wakrah-wi-bas November 26th, 2007, 03:01 PM it's Al-Obaidly tower, one of the oldest & probably first modern towers in doha, along with Al-Tadamon (Al-Malki) tower.
i love the new look of the tower.
Qatar Son 333 November 26th, 2007, 03:11 PM cool i love it since the old one wasent that good btw i also think its completed :D
btw in you pictures massilia there seems to be a new tower next to almana towers or is that just a new single storey shop ?
Massilia November 27th, 2007, 09:15 PM ^^ it's a 8-storey residential, but there is no render on the project board, and it's getting built behind the single storey shops (restaurants) you are talking about. So I guess these will stay (they are nice by the way!)
Halawala: the Al Mana towers are lighted at night, and you can see they are working on the interior finishings, you can especially notice how dirty the glasses are as of now! Will need a serious clean up but overall they don't look bad I guess : )
Wakrah-wi-bas: what is Al Tadamon - Al Malki tower?
wakrah-wi-bas November 28th, 2007, 08:49 PM Wakrah-wi-bas: what is Al Tadamon - Al Malki tower?
it's on B-ring road (known as al-handassa street), south of al-jaidah tower, opposite Hafsa school for girls, u can't miss it.
it was named after its owner, Ahmed al-Malki, one of the richest men in the country during the 70's & 80's, but died, and left behind him a huge debt that estimated at QR 200,000,000. he invited me once for lunch in his office at the rooftop of the tower in 1993. of course the view wasn't as i will call "panoramic" or "breathtaking", judging from the surrounding area at that time!

I always wondered about Al-Malki Tower, who owns it. 200 million debt is huge; what did he spend it on?
Qatar Son 333 November 29th, 2007, 12:58 PM ^^ the tower ?

Ok I clearly see which building it is now...it could easily be customized to something cool :P I had a talk about that with someone today and I was told the tower belongs to the heirs of Ahmed al Malki (his son is the manager of Al Khaliji bank). Anyway that area in 1993...I would have paid to see that! : )
ahmad.oustwani November 30th, 2007, 10:57 AM it does look brand new.......so modern and attractive........but is it getting renewed from the inside as well.........?
ahmad.oustwani November 30th, 2007, 10:58 AM PS: the tower is getting its new cladding only from three sides.......ahaha......not the side from the back......the back side look as old as it used to be.....was driving around it this morning......they are not even working on it.....
Qatar Son 333 November 30th, 2007, 11:46 AM there not working because its friday !
ahmad.oustwani December 1st, 2007, 02:00 PM no man.....i meant like there aren't any progress on or temptation to clad that side of the tower for a reason......
qa1994r August 16th, 2008, 06:00 PM Hello everybody, this is my first post outside the other introduce yourself thread, i went to this complex today and entered the shopping mall, its named (The Boulevard) and its icon (symbol) is 2 towers connected by a podium (mana towers haha).
even though the Mall didnt fully open and has a long way to go it seems like a nice city mall that seems it will attract alot of attention since they have "Bhs" there !!! other shops that opened include "unitd colours of benetton", "sunglass hut", "Womens secret", and another decoration shop that i cant remmember... the cafes include "the coffe bean" and "Glorias coffe".... (did i mix the names ? not sure myself) but it was a nice double floor mall, the parking building could be accesable through the second floor via bridge...
nihad August 16th, 2008, 08:46 PM I don't know if you guys paid attention to this detail, but next to Al Mana towers there is this old ugly concrete building (visible on previous pages of this thread), it is being entirely covered by a new cladding, it makes the tower look brand new! Qatar Son 333 August 16th, 2008, 11:30 PM Yeah nihad it looks worse than the old front of the tower.... wonder why thy didnt cover it...... it would have been better.... and offcourse cleaner (more hygenic)....
btw i hope you red what qa1994r said about the mall, seems cool.... better go to take pictures next time :D since as usual.. I LOVE MALLS !!!!!!!!!
