Just Japanese Wannabees want to duplicate Italian spirit. Well, I guess this kind of construction is typical of Japan, just want to be them in appearance but nothing spiritual inside. Personally, I do not like this kind of construction. It is somehwhat degrade and dishonor the history of Italian culture. Vapour January 13th, 2006, 09:09 AM It is still under construction. I guess it will be just a thematic shopping area, I'm not really interested in the thing. coldstar January 14th, 2006, 04:35 AM This Italian town has no Italian history, tho. What a head trip :puke: Italian Town in Shiodome (Chitta Italia) is being developed by a nonprofit organization 'Comune Shiodome'. Basically It is the entire reproduction of Reggio Emilia (a comune in Regione Emilia-Romagna, Italy), famous for the parmesan cheese. Thus, all the buildings and infrastructure are designed by Italian architects (with collaboration from Italian Government), and regulated strictly by Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The Completion of Chitta Italia is in 2007. Japan donated to Bosnia an ally full of Cherrie blossom Trees. its cool to see other nations do that for friendship. pierre-laurent January 14th, 2006, 06:16 AM i ve seen the pics from this site...the building and urban style are italian but it's nearer to a modern italian style. BermudaTriangle January 14th, 2006, 09:40 AM Great. This is just as great as a real Italian town or even better than that. The true Italian spirit lives within this entire town. How amazing. Once Italian immigrants start coming there, Nissan wouldn't have to go abroad anymore. The Italian cities and immigrants are always welcomed! ;) I recently went to Milan with my friends and spent some great time. We looked like typical Japanese there! And I bought some souvenirs back my family in Japan. They said I can't take such an expensive item, but anyhow, I'm pleased that they liked my souvenirs! :) vtower November 8th, 2006, 07:19 AM By the way, I'm very interested in the Italian cuisines. I often personally go to the Italian restaurants and can of course cook myself, but I hope someone to accompany me and tell me the good restaurants I haven't been yet. :) en November 9th, 2006, 05:05 AM There is another "fake" Italian street in Kawasaki if I remember correctly... castermaild55 November 9th, 2006, 05:16 AM There is another "fake" Italian street in Kawasaki if I remember correctly... http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=95308&page=4 ?? vtower November 9th, 2006, 07:29 AM We don't probably need Italian theme park but Italian town or Italian quarter, where the Italian immigrants actually live. European-style to the max!!! :D This brings European feel and architecture close to Japan and thus, I can't wait for the April 2007 inaguration of this development. Coldstar, a few questions though: -Who is the company/organization/consortiums that is/are responsible for turning this development project into a reality? -How much does the total project cost? -How big is the land area (of this very development)? -Wikipedia states that this is called the West District of Shiodome (西街区) and is one of the three main zones of the Shiodome area, correct? Thanks :) ALKUN January 28th, 2007, 12:54 AM I think this thread is actually cool!!! keep it up!! it's nice to have some italian colture in JAPAN also. if you guys have more pics please post them. I know that in NAGOYA somewhere around the port there is a small italian town. There is a replica of VENICE. I have seen some pictures it's really nice. There are canals with gondolas, restaurants , shopping, ect. It looks very much like the VENITIAN HOTEL in LAS VEGAS but this place in NAGOYA is actually in the open. |
