thedubailife January 13th, 2006, 11:49 AM Intresting looking towers, I think they might actually turn out to be quite nice and unique in away
Face81 January 13th, 2006, 12:24 PM they look great. :D
dubaiflo January 13th, 2006, 01:46 PM look indeed amazing.
btw are those two or three towers? render looks :weird:
also it shows phase1 in background, so if it is correct these must be either Y or Z plots.
THE DUBAI GUYS January 13th, 2006, 02:28 PM I would like to say there r 3 towers :colgate: but then wouldnt that make the total no. of rooms just for those 3 way over 800 rooms....not thats ever a bad thing of course! :colgate: the big render makes them look v.good!
R
city of the future January 13th, 2006, 03:03 PM They look like Calatrava designs... indeed damn amazing, pretty good stuff out of JLT these days
THE DUBAI GUYS January 13th, 2006, 03:23 PM so how many towers do we have for jlt now?its must be close to 50 mayb 60? I counted 66 not bad only 12-13 towers yet to be released then it will be finished...wow! the day when the last one is released will be such a good day for dubai! y cant the person who made the dubai marina future diagram do 1 for jlt? im sure the pics on SSC will be good enuf. pls make it whom ever u r! :) :) :) :) :)
R
dubaiflo January 13th, 2006, 03:28 PM should be 67 including almas.
Chad January 13th, 2006, 04:13 PM look indeed amazing.
btw are those two or three towers? render looks :weird:
also it shows phase1 in background, so if it is correct these must be either Y or Z plots.
Since there are only 2 areas that has "3 empty" plots available, Z and Y...I think so...:)
malec January 13th, 2006, 05:05 PM Hmm, weird looking render but will probably look quite different on completion
Stephan23 January 13th, 2006, 06:54 PM UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dubai-Lover January 13th, 2006, 07:50 PM the render resembles either 1 huge tower or 3 towers
but not 2
what a weird looking thing
malec January 13th, 2006, 07:52 PM It's definitely 3
Dubai-Lover January 13th, 2006, 07:54 PM the render on their own website shows only 2
either they now bought an additional plot or got rid of one
Dubai-Lover January 13th, 2006, 08:23 PM no
ha, the small render also shows 3, the angle and quality is a bit stupid
yep, yep it's 3 identical towers
Face81 January 13th, 2006, 08:45 PM I would like to say there r 3 towers :colgate: but then wouldnt that make the total no. of rooms just for those 3 way over 800 rooms....not thats ever a bad thing of course! :colgate: the big render makes them look v.good!
R
I guess you were right. It looks like they are 3 towers and not 2. So that means there will be more than 800 rooms. Great! :D
AltinD January 13th, 2006, 10:31 PM No, No, No ... One tower will be hotel, one will be hotel apartments and the third one will be serviced apartments.
It's safe to presume ^^^
THE DUBAI GUYS January 13th, 2006, 10:35 PM welll i guess thats fine too...
R
Face81 January 13th, 2006, 10:48 PM oh well, i guess that is acceptable too. Roll on Anantara. :)
Krazy April 20th, 2006, 05:21 PM I think we can safely assume that these will be on cluster Z coz that's the only one left vacant as of now
Dubai-Lover April 26th, 2006, 12:35 PM bit confusing now
Minor International announces the UAE début of the Anantara brand with two hotel properties in Dubai
Minor International will make its debut as an exhibitor at Arabian Travel Market with the announcement of the opening of a luxurious resort and a stylish hotel, both located in Dubai.
United Arab Emirates: 2 hours, 39 minutes ago
http://www.ameinfo.com/images/news/5/24545-ana.jpg
Anantara Hotel Jumeirah Lake.
The management contracts are the first UAE ventures for the Thailand-based company, one of the leading hospitality and leisure organisations in the Asia-Pacific region.
The first project, scheduled to open in December 2007 will be Anantara Resort Palm Jumeirah, a five-star luxury resort located just 30 minutes from Dubai International Airport.
The resort is an integral part of the AED 2.1 billion Tiara Residence project launched by Zabeel Investments. Both Tiara Residence and Anantara Resort Palm Jumeirah will form a private, gated community located off the main trunk of the Palm Jumeirah.
Lush landscaped gardens and a tropical forest will surround both the Residence and the Resort with streams creating an authentic look of an Asian destination juxtaposed against and overlooking the Arabian Sea. The architecture of the buildings will represent a contemporary style inspired by its natural surroundings. This will be highlighted with the use of wood as a prominent feature on the exterior as well as forming part of the façade of the buildings.
Anantara Resort Palm Jumeirah will comprise 243 hotel rooms complemented by 132 fully furnished and serviced apartments, all within a single 15-storey building. The rooms and suites range between 35 sq metres and 90 sq metres in size whilst the one-bedroom serviced apartments offer living areas of between 50 sq metres and 90 sq metres including kitchen facilities.
World-class dining options will include 'Spices', a contemporary Asian restaurant featuring classic South East Asian and Thai specialities, the 'Market' featuring an open-plan kitchen offering international and Middle Eastern favourites and the High Tide offering al fresco dining by the ocean.
A focal point of the resort will be the highly acclaimed Anantara Spa, an inviting facility of approximately 800 sq metres providing a full range of eastern and western treatments and therapies.
Said William E. Heinecke, Chairman and Chief Executive of Anantara's parent company, Minor International:
'We are delighted to be a part of the prestigious Tiara project. Anantara Palm Jumeirah Dubai will mark our hotel brand's debut in the UAE and I am particularly proud to be able to present Anantara's distinctive style of luxury within this magnificent architectural landscape.'
The second property in Dubai will be the Anantara Jumeirah Lake Dubai. Due to open in the first quarter of 2008, this property will be located within the distinctive Jumeriah Lakes development project comprising of offices and residential facilities. The 45-storey hotel is situated behind Dubai Marina and just minutes away from the world-famous Emirates Golf Course.
Anantara Jumeirah Lake Dubai will feature 473 rooms, suites and service apartments ranging from 42 sq metres to 115 sq metres in size. Hotel facilities will include four restaurants, three refreshment lounges, extensive meeting facilities and the world-class Anantara Spa, in addition to other recreational facilities.
Both Anantara Resort Palm Jumeirah and Anantara Jumeirah Lake Dubai will feature interiors designed by Milan-based Studio Marco Piva.
Anantara is taken from a Sanskrit word that means 'borderless water', and was chosen for this element's association in many Asian cultures with wealth and good fortune.
'Anantara Resorts offer leisure experiences that invoke a tremendous feeling of tranquility and privacy and amidst luscious natural landscapes with finishings and offerings that reflect the traditions and lifestyle of the surrounding environment,' said Heinecke.
'Our existing properties in Thailand, as well as a new resort opening in the Maldives in early July, operate along these very principles,' he added. 'With distinctive settings in Hua Hin, on Koh Samui and in the Golden Triangle, and with the dedication of highly motivated service teams, the Anantara experience offers guests luxury and tranquility in surroundings that are culturally and environmentally uplifting.'

dubaiflo April 26th, 2006, 11:07 PM and u did not take a photo ben :bash:
SA BOY April 27th, 2006, 11:11 AM they are origional is a sea of conformity. I supose Im super critical as I develop towers and in my mind the 4 Seasons is a 2005 design cos thats when we completed it and even though you guys havent seen the latest final renders its my 2005 favourite.
These show daring use of controlled form as apposed to simple lines on so many of the towers in JLT and are the best yet for 2006, having said that we still have 7 months to go.
As for Burj Al alam- its big is brash its a powerfull statement at 400+ meters but its not pretty and easy on my eye.
it gets a 8.75/10 for pure use of height and a unique shape but apart from that its a simpel tower
scorpion April 28th, 2006, 03:17 AM anantara!! :D
gorgeous, and from thailand... :)

JV homes in on Cluster Z
CONSTRUCTION UAE
23 Jun 2006
A joint venture of the local ALEC and the UK’s Higgs & Hill has received a letter of intent (LoI) worth AED 800 million ($218 million) for a three-tower, mixed-use development on cluster Z at Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT).
The 25-month contract calls for the construction of a hotel, office, and apartment tower with a common retail podium. The development will have a total built-up area of 180,000 square metres.
Swissboring, part of Italy’s Trevi Group, has completed the piling, shoring, excavation and dewatering package. The local Asteco Development Management is the project manager, and the local Architecture Engineering Innovations Bureau (AEIB) is the consultant. The client is the local Seven Tides Development (MEED 16:12:05).

dubaiflo August 24th, 2006, 12:47 PM nope, but indeed there are three towers in the anantara complex, however 1 is hotel, 1 is serviced apts and 1 office afaik. maybe we should open seperate threads once we have proper renders.

will they get a Nakheel Basement?
i doubt that, i guess they will have an integrated basement for all three towers which would mean everything is ready for the main contractor?
germantower October 1st, 2006, 04:21 PM The design is really really awesome. But it is a bit weird, because from some angles it looks like there will be five towers.
I hope the finished product will stick with the renders.
ZZ-II October 1st, 2006, 11:06 PM looks like they'll start to rise soon

Anantara Resort Seminyak, Bali, Opening December 15, 2007
Anantara Resorts is set to open a luxurious boutique property on a prime beachfront location in the chic resort area of Seminyak, Bali. Anantara Resort Seminyak, with a total of just 59 luxurious suites, is a comfortable 30 minute drive from the international airport and is scheduled to open on December 15th this year.
Designed to complement the breathtaking panorama of the Indian Ocean, Anantara Resort Seminyak will reflect the lifestyle and culture of the stylish surrounds of Seminyak. The design of the 59 all-suite resort is contemporary, using extensive glass panelling to bring the vast waterscape of Seminyak Beach into the interiors and emphasize a natural ambience and fluidity with nature.
Under the esteemed architectural vision of Anthony Liu, whose firm TonTon is renowned for its innovative tropical designs such as the Bale Resort in Nusa Dua, Anantara Resort Seminyak is poised to raise the benchmark for luxury accommodation. The resort is just a short stroll from the glamorous hub of Seminyak with its hip designer ateliers and cosmopolitan dining nightlife.
Each spacious suite in the five-story resort, all with an average of 70 to 80 sq metres, has an ocean view which accentuates a breezy and relaxed atmosphere. Anantara Resort Seminyak affords every modern convenience expected by luxury travellers, whilst ensuring absolute serenity in one of the world’s top island destinations.
To further indulge in the beautiful surrounds, the resort has a stylish rooftop bar with languorous settees and oversized cushions available for guests to “chill out” and soak in the famous Balinese sunsets. Serving up new world and Asian fare, and overlooking the wide expanses of beach below, the rooftop is set to be one of Bali’s premier entertainment and dining venues.
The Thai restaurant in the lobby level of the hotel will also offer an impressive mix of traditional Thai and contemporary fusion-styled dishes, inspired by the four main provinces of Thailand. Transforming from a daily breakfast venue into an ambient-lit dinner venue, the restaurant is punctuated with exquisite local and Thai object d’art.
Further features at the boutique resort include an infinity-edge pool overlooking the ocean vista, a first-class fitness facility and Bali’s first Anantara Spa, Asia’s foremost. Using Balinese design and décor, the Anantara Spa’s earthen tone interiors will contrast with the calming seascape exterior to reflect the harmony and interdependence of land and water. Consisting of four doubles suites and eight treatment beds, each spa room is equipped with private Jacuzzi and ocean views.

The contract calls for the construction of a hotel, office and apartment towers with a common retail podium. The development will have a total built-up area of 180,000 square metres. My ANANTARA
A Place Where Passion and Perspiration Nurtures the Soil
Anyone who has visited Anantara Resort Hua Hin will recall the inspiring, exotic gardens that form such an idyllic backdrop for this luxury hideaway nestled on the palm-fringed coastline of the Gulf of Thailand . Many have also encountered a man there with a big broad smile, blissfully happy at work, transforming the soil into a canvas of vibrant hues. Meet Khun Desnarong Puengtang (aka Pom), whose passion and perspiration nurtures his handiwork – in a far greater way than a tropical climate can do.
It was Mohandas Gandhi who said, “to forget how to dig the earth and tend to the soil is to forget ourselves”. A born horticulturist, Khun Desnarong can testify to this.
“The only thing that gives me more pleasure in life than tending to the 14 acres of lush greenery here at Anantara, is to see the enjoyment it brings to guests. The garden is a place for them to explore, to relax and to find peace. Whether they are wandering through it, looking onto it from their balconies, or relaxing next to the pools, the garden is a work of art that pays tribute to Mother Earth.
When an opportunity came for me to join Anantara’s gardening division in 2005, I jumped at the chance. For a long time I have known that the resort has one of the most beautiful gardens in Hua Hin, and to be part of the team that maintains it was so exciting. Often, guests and visitors would ask me for some inside gardening tips and, because I don’t speak much English, I have to improvise by communicating with them through hand and body gestures. I love sharing my ideas with them – I just hope they understand what I mean!
For most gardeners, including me, the biggest satisfaction comes from seeing something grow after tending to it. Gardening also provides me with an outlet to express my creativity. Like the special corner at the Lagoon Pavilion – one of my favorite parts of the garden – and the ornate decorations I enjoy making from palm leaves. I live for what I do, because gardens like these are a showcase of all the indigenous trees, plants and flowers we have in Thailand .
I think I am lucky to have a passion for what I do. Gardening makes me happy, and I’ve known from a young age that this is what I would like to do until I retire one day. Here in Anantara’s gardens I have found my own heaven. It’s my Anantara…”

Playmaker May 4th, 2008, 09:13 AM I called the main office of the constructor, Dubai Civil Engineering. They told me the project has been cancelled by the client and DCE don't know why :(
AltinD May 4th, 2008, 12:18 PM ^^ That is more then possible. I read an article about the developer (Seven Tides Developments) and there was a interview with the CEO. He spoke about the plans to expand locally, in the region and internationally, mentioned all their other projects in Palm Jumeirah, Ibn Battuta and upcomming ones on other Nakheel projects, but no word on JLT at all.
Real pity, because architecturally they were something unique and totally different. :ohno:

Imre May 7th, 2009, 05:50 PM fence works in progress but I think just the DMCC wants to hide this site.
As I spoke with someone from the Seven Tides at the Arabian Travel Market , I think its going to be ON HOLD for a years or NEVER BUILT also possible.
chefdude May 8th, 2009, 07:46 AM I think we should all petition DMCC to have this plot levelled and turned into recreation / park / green open space. If its never going to get built then its just going to be an eyesore for years to come.

An artist's impression of Anantara's Jumeirah Lake Towers project. The company says it is keeping the project on hold until the economic situation improves.
Dubai: Bangkok-based Anantara Hotel Group, a major brand in the luxury hotel sector, is expediting its expansion in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
Anantara's second hotel in the UAE will be ready to launch by the end of October, and new projects in Oman and Morocco are on track. However, the company's huge hotel and office complex in Dubai's Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) remains on hold.
Meanwhile, Anantara has said its huge project on the site of Dubai's Jumeirah Lakes Towers, comprising a hotel and spa development as well as offices and apartments, remains on hold.
"Anantara Jumeirah Lakes is currently on hold until the economy improves, but definitely still on the cards, just no fixed date at this point in time," Walsh said. The three-building project with a targeted height of 234 metres, 265 hotel rooms and 208 serviced apartments was originally to have been completed at the end of 2008 and opened in early 2009, according to earlier announcements of developer Seven Tides group. As of now, nothing much than the groundwork has been done on the site which is located exactly at the entrance to Jumeirah Lakes Towers, adding to a couple of other delayed projects such as the Vue de Lac cluster.

Once things kick in again in Dubai, and with landscaping in the community getting better by the day this will be a very attractive location to build. Much more attractive than lets say in an undeveloped location where it will take years, upon years to get this look, and feel.
My two cents worth.
