View Full Version : Disappointing
Jules January 16th, 2006, 02:06 AM Well that sucked. How ironic is it that our offense is what kept us in the game, and our oh so dominating defense couldn't stop shit? I hope Seattle rips them limb from limb. It would've been great to make it to the conference game, oh well.
Maybe next year?
Hecago January 16th, 2006, 02:15 AM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
spyguy January 16th, 2006, 02:22 AM They were pretty cocky before the game though.
Jules January 16th, 2006, 02:25 AM ^That's what I was thinking. I wonder how Adewale feels now?
Man, I thought this could actually be the year.
JB_Gold Coast January 16th, 2006, 02:46 AM You want to blame anyone, start with Brad Maynard and Charles Tillman. In a game of field position, punting is so important, and Maynard put our backs against the wall three times. I can't believe he made the Pro Bowl last year. He's such a pussy.
Tillman: I've always thought he was overrated. He was horrible from the get go. Not only mental mistakes (why the fuck are you staring into the backfield when you have no help over the top) but a lack of physical desire as well (getting a ball ripped out of his hands by tiny Steve Smith). Not to mention he bitches and moans as much as anyone out there.
Oh Mike Green: If you're on a blitz, and you see Steve Smith sprinting towards the QB in the backfield, that means they're probably running an end around. If that's Mike Brown, Smith gets dropped. Get a fuckin clue.
Chi_Coruscant January 16th, 2006, 04:11 AM Bears played pretty good running game but shit on passing.
I am going through 5 stages of depression. :gaah:
tigidig14 January 16th, 2006, 05:59 AM theyre making so much excuses,
it wasnt really their time :(
chicagogeorge January 16th, 2006, 05:59 AM The problem lies with our offense, specifically Grossman.
Jules January 16th, 2006, 06:08 AM ^Grossman didn't do too bad. He had a rough start, which was predictable seeing as it was his first post-season start and I believe only his 8th overall. He stepped it up as the game went on.
JB_Gold Coast January 16th, 2006, 07:54 AM The problem lies with our offense, specifically Grossman.
Not today. Grossman played very well after his slow start when we was 3-15. Not to mention that during the beginning sequence, most of those throws were long bombs just to air out the defense and get Rex comfortable in the game. From the middle of the second quarter on, Grossman was pretty good, and the offense put up 21 points. Going into the game, if I told you our offense would score 21 points, you would have figured we would have won the game. Well, we didn't because the defense played like shit, particularly Charles Tillman and Mike Green, who are probably both partying at the Leg Room right now. Maybe I'll head over there and say hi.
Jasonhouse January 16th, 2006, 08:01 AM Outside perspective....
The D totally blew it for you guys...
But imo, it isn't about just the players, but also the coaches... After letting Steve Smith TORCH the Bears in the last game, did the coaches scheme a way to slow him... Hell no.
Jules January 16th, 2006, 05:56 PM Yeah, and you gotta wonder why they would place Chris Thompson on Steve Smith...? Poor guy got absolutely owned.
XCRunner January 17th, 2006, 03:30 AM Yeah, the whole game was really tense for me. I was pulling my hair out the entire time. Bad tone right from the start. And it really got me that the Offense went 3 and out after Urlacher got the INT. Those are the types of things you have to capitalize on, becuase's there sure as hell won't be many of them. Oh well... back 2 back Super Bowl and World Series may be a little to much to ask.
