View Full Version : Merian & Co. Nr.7 - Big wheels keep on turning Küsel January 19th, 2006, 11:22 AM http://www.ch-br.net/markus/images/kueselopolis7.jpg Forza Raalte January 19th, 2006, 11:23 AM Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela Küsel January 19th, 2006, 11:31 AM Sorry, no... why did you come up with these countries? I just wonder ;) Forza Raalte January 19th, 2006, 11:35 AM 1. You are the Brazil expert 2. You did a Brazil one before 3. The city looks like Parati a bit 4. The city is obviously colonial Which brings me too South America and more particuliar Brazil DvW January 19th, 2006, 11:36 AM Italy? France? Croatia? Forza Raalte January 19th, 2006, 11:38 AM Other side of the world Indonesia, Japan, Phillipines Küsel January 19th, 2006, 11:49 AM 1. You are the Brazil expert 2. You did a Brazil one before 3. The city looks like Parati a bit 4. The city is obviously colonial Which brings me too South America and more particuliar Brazil - yes, I did Brazil before, so I wouldn't make just another one again ;) - Parati is indeed similar, but not functional! :) - It is colonial... and your first guesses were somehow closer than your latter ones... just as a hint. Even though you don't need it - but maybe others  No correct country til now... Forza Raalte January 19th, 2006, 11:51 AM Ok, than I'll stick to Latin America which I thought it was from the beginning. Acapulco, Havana, Colon. I think Acapulco is very possible Küsel January 19th, 2006, 11:52 AM It is indeed very possible, especially the landscape, but it's not, sorry :) Forza Raalte January 19th, 2006, 11:59 AM :| Carribean, Colombia, Belize City? No one got even the country yet and it's not even visible on your ENTIRE map ;) Cool, that it's once even for Forza a hard guessing (I thought this one would be a tough one ;)) Forza Raalte January 20th, 2006, 11:38 AM Ok, the building look somehow Portuguese or Spanish too me. Which means it can be South America but also Africa. The mountains are very strange Malabo, Equatorial Guinea? Maputo, Mozambique? Luanda, Angola? Küsel January 20th, 2006, 12:44 PM No, LA was okay - I said that your first guesses were closer than your second ones (Asia)... and PT/SP ex-colony is correct as well - Acapulco was really a good guess in that sence! Hint: this very city doesn't exist anymore!! Forza Raalte January 20th, 2006, 12:50 PM Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador FJP January 20th, 2006, 02:08 PM Puerto Rico, Rep. Forza strikes again!! - Who can stop him? Acapulco: it's also on the west coast in this area and the lanscape on the pic reminded me also of it (more than Panama). But it's because in this time the painters tended to exagorate and even invent mountains to make the place look more romantic ;) Küsel January 21st, 2006, 01:26 PM BTW: After Panama city got distroyed in the 17th century (I think ;)) The rebuild the city nearly 10 miles from the original location... that became today's Panama City. Forza Raalte January 21st, 2006, 01:28 PM Jay! Merian is very hard to google. There are no results if you search for 'Merian Panama' etc. in google. That makes it extra hard. Küsel January 21st, 2006, 01:32 PM Don't forget it's called Merian & CO! It also can be a panorama or city map of one of his students or even older views :) - This one is not by him afaik.
