I'm thinking about the banner for this anniversary.
I'll be really glad if we have the Diamond Jubilee banner up in SSC.

I would like to ask you about this idea.
How should it look like?
Who are able to use photoshop and make it for us?

My opinion about what should be included in the banner

1. this symbol, not have to be big, just a small one.

2. a portrait of HM the King. (Is it appropriate to have it ??? I'm not sure a krub :? but i personnally like this idea.)

3. wording --> please help me, I'm not so good. The words "Diamond Jubilee" is a must. What else? "Bhumibol Adulyadej"? "Thailand"?.........

4. What should be the background? Our new airport? Grand palace? or sth else. I love the picture of Grand Palace during APEC krub.

I think the grand palace looks really beautiful at night.
I remember seeing photos of the royal barge procession during APEC..very colourful.

Great ideas you guys have here. I think that Grand Palace picture is fantastic. The banner doesn't have to include skyscrapers or other infrastructure IMHO. Even though I got Pas's idea but I do think that the airport pic in this particular banner is a bit cheesy.

Now, Now, the Grand palace is under the latest major expansion
for this Diamond Jubilee .... I have seen the construction cranes in the grand palace from Sanam Luang (Thammasart side) ....

Hope that the major expansion would be done on time.

Some thoughts:

- Should the HM the King be in the middle, or somewhere else?

- Is it a bad idea to cut out the upper and lower part of the Diamond Jubilee symbol? I felt it could be very small if it has to fit within 79 vertical pixels.

- Which of the Palace/Wat Pra Kaeo pictures (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=7186109&postcount=5) do you prefer as background? How should it be cropped?
I wish I had access to a longer version so I don't need to cut out the spires and the river.

- Are the colors too dark for the occation?

My opinion : His majesty the King and the Diamond Jubilee simbol should be switched their place,na. You may change HM the King's pic or turning its side.
The symbol : you can resize it a little bit from this, not too small.

I kind agree with stmon idea lah, but one thing to be concerned is the "SKYSCRAPERCITY" text on the left side.

And we should add a shord wording krub.

I quess so, but I don't know much about this event.

Oh dear...I hope this won't cause any arguments with the filipino forummers...:cry:

But I really think it should be our banner day because this is the 60th (full decade number) year for the ascension...so our king's ascension is really a once in a decade event...whereas they have an independence day every year...

And this event is likely to have more international impact with the gathering of world wide royalty...

I think we should really submit our banner(s) really quickly in case it turns out to be a first come first serve...

^^ Guys, I've already asked Jan about this and told him to prioritize your banner since it's on the full decade number. I've already received his reply and he said that we could have a rotating banner on the 12th featuring the 2 events or we could have the Philippine banner on an earlier/later date. What can you say?

It will be a rotating Banner on that day, to be fair for both of us...cheers.
