This story was plastered all over Wolverhampton yesterday, the E & S have reported it and it seems its filtering into the Swedish press aswell. Now this alone proves how little faith the supporters have in our decieving board of directors ;)

History could be made as fans set to buy striker
By Scott Cooper - January 21 2006

WOLVES fans could be poised to make Football History in the next ten days as they make a bold attempt to fund £300,000 to buy a striker for the club. Fans from this website have declared that a sum of £12 each from everyone at the Manchester United game would see the target met.

The fans attempt to make football history today made local news with Chief Executive Jez Moxey even having his say on the proposed purchase of a striker by fans who use our message board.

The idea is simple. Users of our Forum, headed by co editor Chirs Binnington, have target Icelandic International striker Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson as their man to fire Wolves into the Premiership.

A top licensed agent has been brought in to find out if Thorvaldsson is available and interested in a move to Molineux. The users of The Molineux Way believe that if each fan who attends next Sundays FA Cup tie with Manchester United paid just £12 each then the unique transfer could go ahead.

The Wolverhampton based Express and Star today carried a report on the events and also carried comments from Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey. The Wolves chief told the paper "We are more than happy to receive this kind of assistance but I stress that any player would have to meet Glenn Hoddle's requirements."

very interesting indeed. This could be the start of something special. Whilst obviously fans do 'donate' to their club through ticket sales, this is a good idea imo. Particularly with clubs that are tight on money.

What if the club sells him, do they get their money back?
