When i was in HK in Dec, i noticed there is a set of elevators and escalators in the middle of the landside terminal connect between the arrival floor and departure floor. I believe they are new. Am i right? If yes, when did they build this?

yes that's new. i think they're built about 2 years ago.

i'm also curious about one thing though... you know the baggage claim hall... they're doing some works there as well... but looked horrifying last time i saw it.. not sure what that's all about.

after reviewing some old pics, i think the elevator is old. Only the escalators and the floor slab elevated are new.

Hmm, i never notice any major renovation work going on in baggage claim area though.

Also, i think they are trying to add stores at the departure area (landside), right before you enter the restricted area. Currently, only one side has shops, it looks like they are trying to make two sides got shops.

which ceiling? exactly where that is?

Yea, that thing was added around 2004.
