And which of the 2 is better in:

political situation- in terms of a movement towards democracy, definately Doha. however, in terms of the overall political stability of the country, Dubai.
property law- Dubai (i don't know much about Doha's property laws)

overall- Dubai (but Doha seems really cool too)

property investment: Dubai is competitive and Doha is a becoming ciy, so Doha for sure is better in any kind of investment including property-so Doha

*I think the future is gonna be for both cities, but each in its own way.

Tourism: Dubai - All luxury but with no substance. Doha - not much to see but you get a feel of a true arab city.

Business - Dubai - Well established and matured. Doha - Still have many untapped opportunities.

Property - Dubai - Think of london, its great to own property there but it will be expansive and you wont get that big of a return. Doha - Think of East Europe, very big market with still afforable opportunities which promise huge returns.

Traffic - Both are really bad.

Seaside - Doha, you get Dunes and the sea togther. Just amazing. Dubai - for a bbq, beach volly and beers then that the place to go.

Political - I think we are the most stable and have really good institutions.

Property - Dubai i doubt qatar has a property law out yet.

Doha my hometown offcourse !

Another question: will doha ever try to be like dubai? Do they have similar projects - programms?

Compete maybe. Similar, I doubt it. Some projects may seem similar like the malls and stuff, but they are actually necessary. But, what Qatar is trying to do is to modernize Doha and add a regional touch to it so that it doesn't lose its identity like Dubai.

I think Dubai is " a huge shopping mall " and lost its identity long time ago .. even the locals have moved to live somewhere els. is this what the city actually wants ?? I don't know about doha , but Kuwait are considaring this factor more seriously
