Qatar4Ever January 28th, 2006, 09:02 PM wowwwwwwwwww.. hehehe. Jechtman January 31st, 2006, 04:23 PM Man, get this sub human scum out of our region please. DarkBlueBoss February 5th, 2006, 08:50 AM Not surprised that he ended up in a part of the world where a 53 year old man can have sex with a 9 year old child without loosing this status as a semi-deity. ;-) http://skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=310975 i dont know how u guys in bahrain should react to this Giorgio February 5th, 2006, 08:54 AM why is he wearing a womans outfit?? what a sicko. SuperDog February 5th, 2006, 09:02 AM Strange guy in a strange part of the world....Why aren't the men wrapped up as well? B-Patriot February 5th, 2006, 02:22 PM Because not all women are wrapped up (like in the pictures) to begin with... Just very conservative extreme 'backward' subservient villager ladies... Its not such a strange part of the world... (well not all parts of this part of the world are soo strange, just some parts, like perhaps Saudi, you Ignoramus!) Why aren't the women shirtless and bare breasted, like men can be shirtless in your country :bash: BMXican February 5th, 2006, 02:28 PM women can be bear breasted if they want to (and they are, in appropriate locations, like men). never been to europe eh? B-Patriot February 5th, 2006, 02:41 PM I'm an EU-national...Been to Europe lots of times, thank you very much... Women in Bahrain don't have to cover up...There is no law that says they have to...Just a lot of the villagers choose to cover because of tradition and societal values and stuff like that...In most of Europe i believe, even though u might have laws that do allow women to walk around bare breasted in certain parts of the EU, almost nobody does....Its un-common to see women walking around, shopping or whatever, bare breasted...Why? ( Since they are allowed by law)....BECAUSE of society...Values and traditions, which as liberal, relaxed, and openmided as they might be, these values still have reached that stage where it is accepted for women to be walking around bare breasted in public (other for than in nude beaches).... So there you go genius.... We don't really have descrinimating laws when it comes to dress vis-a-vis women, and neither does the EU...However the way things are going on, the reality, thats just ppl practicing their personal freedom, and at times buckling under the pressure of societal values and traditions... Don't be soo presumptuous... Elmahri February 5th, 2006, 03:15 PM Strange guy in a strange part of the world....Why aren't the men wrapped up as well? hey smart ass, Have you ever been in this "part of the world"?, or it's just your imagination gave you the idea of how people live in here Red aRRow February 5th, 2006, 03:44 PM Women can be bare breasted or wear a veil if they want to (according to traditions and laws of a country). Nobody has any right to call them backwards or enlightened. Some people might consider topless women to be backward while others might consider veil wearing women to be backward. So lets stop judging and get in touch with reality. :) Elmahri February 5th, 2006, 06:02 PM Women can be bare breasted or wear a veil if they want to (according to traditions and laws of a country). So lets stop judging and get in touch with reality. :) I agree.... :) SuperDog February 5th, 2006, 08:44 PM Does God (Allah supposively the cerator of the universe) really care if women are wrapped up? Don't you think that he has better things to do then to zero out woman's exsistance in public where they can't express themselves. Animals don't even do this. Suggestion: Arab men are not very attractive you should wrap them up too. B-Patriot February 6th, 2006, 12:18 AM I responded to your crap already, stop trolling... And you can shove that suggestion where the sun don't shine.... Red aRRow February 6th, 2006, 12:45 AM ^^ Good one B-Patriot. Anyways I'm a fan of Michael. I mean come on... the guy made Thriller man.....THRILLER!!! He's the KING and I'm a big fan. :) Red aRRow February 6th, 2006, 01:42 PM Oh and don't forget BAD. :D safqa_tijariya February 7th, 2006, 06:10 PM Does God (Allah supposively the cerator of the universe) really care if women are wrapped up? Suggestion: Arab men are not very attractive you should wrap them up too. his name says it all translate it to arabic and you will understand the meaning AntonAmeneiro February 8th, 2006, 02:30 AM SuperDog, you could make your point without being insulting... and about how attractive Arab men are, that's just a matter of taste :) By the way, if I were a Muslim, I'd rather riot about Michael Jackson holding hands with an Arab kid than about some cartoon that was published in the other side of the world. PS: And since it's not in my display pic... I strongly support Denmark and the freedom of press we enjoy in Europe. What is published in a newspaper, if it's legal, must be decided by the editors of newspapers, not by crowds of wackos setting embassies on fire and threatening people's lives. We don't need your Sharia or your Ayattollahs, thanks for the offer. B-Patriot February 8th, 2006, 05:06 AM I don't believe we, Bahrainis, set any embassies on fire, so i'm not sure why you are telling us this...! ^^ drmadham February 8th, 2006, 05:12 AM Because not all women are wrapped up (like in the pictures) to begin with... Why aren't the women shirtless and bare breasted, like men can be shirtless in your country :bash: I support your points here B-Patriot, many ppl here apparently dont get the values of the middle east. but i feel ur starting to talk like them a bit - by calling those who cover up fully "backward subservient villager ladies". I hope ur being sarcastic abt that, cause if not then ur being ignorant too. Elmahri February 8th, 2006, 11:33 AM SuperDog, you could make your point without being insulting... and about how attractive Arab men are, that's just a matter of taste :) By the way, if I were a Muslim, I'd rather riot about Michael Jackson holding hands with an Arab kid than about some cartoon that was published in the other side of the world. We don't need your Sharia or your Ayattollahs, thanks for the offer. Anton, the cartoons published in the newspapers insulted us and our relegion so logicaly people get ofnded and mad. it's just the way that muslims are attached to islam and it's values. on the other hand muslims in general have never insulted other relegions we live togother without any problems specially in bahrain, muslims, christians, jewish and others all are happley living togother and what it hurts that the media in the west and the state doesnt show that, it always shows the oppesit side for the middle east it shows anger, hateness, violence, terrrorist... by the way even the christians in bahrain and lebanon condemed the published cartoons same thing in many other arab countries Munch October 22nd, 2006, 04:33 AM Follow this line of reasoning... 1) The press has the freedom to test current opinion and to foster controversial debate. 2) The cartoons were insulting and it is right that people condemn them. 3) Condemnation should be done through lawful means - the best means being to boycott the paper so it suffers financially. 4) Threatening physical violence, vandalising and burning buildings, inciting violence and murder is never going to be an acceptable response in a civilised country. This be condemned just as much, if not more so, than irresponsible cartoons. 5) However irresponsible the cartoons were, the paper should always have the LEGAL freedom to do so. They should not have to fear physical violence for doing so. The lack of respect for the paper, the potential for a paper boycott, and other things should be used if people feel strongly enough. The government should not get involved. In sum... while the cartoons were insensitive and should be condemned, the paper should ALWAYS have the legal freedom to do such things. No matter how insulting or insensitive the cartoons were, nothing is going to justify the use of violent threats (and acts of violence) as a form of protest. Freedom of speech is very powerful. To master the art of it is to dispense for the need for violence. There are ways those who are aggrieved could have responded that would have had much more of an impact, made the paper look bad, and make them look great. Threats of violence will never achieve this. |
