There is a crane up on Furnival street, near the Sheffield art space. It looks like a there is a restoration to existing builds alog with a whole new building next to it.

Anyone know what this will be?

Is that down in the cultural industries quarter? I think i heard something a bit back about apartements in an old building with a new extension

As far as i know, its a conversion of an existing building and a new building - both of which will be apartments. Whether its for students or not I dont know.

Its been up for about a month or so now, and from what it looks like the crane is for the new building on the corner of arundel street, also all the buildings next to it are being done out and a few old buildings at the end (next to Hallam stoddard building) have been knocked down, not sure whats happening there, but there is nothing from Arundel street to arundel gate.

Part of the demolished buildings will act as a replacement car park for when the second phase of St Pauls Place gets underway, they've already gravelled and fenced it off.
