i have to say that before i looked up the pictures, i thought it was going to be a crap city because everyone says the kurds are neglected. but this city looks pretty good, i mean i know that its pretty poor like other cities in iran but it still looks a lot better than other cities. so the government must not neglect as bad as we are made to think... :dunno:

^^ meh i think iranian govt neglects most ethnic groups equally, they dont treat the kurds like Turkey does and Iraq did, they r a lot better than them... only ethnic group ppl r getting anoyed with r the straggling afghani refugees not many of em left but still govt really needs to kick em out

i dont think that is true because khamenei himself is an azeri! i think the government is really trying to help everyone equally, instead of the other way around.

and we cant really say that they neglect most ethnic groups because they neglect us persians too.

but they are trying to help a lot also.

they are trying to move industry out of tehran to other provinces and trying to spread the wealth.

Well we're off-topic here, but since we're at it:

Look at the photos with general views (or the outskirts (http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/706/282722249jxtahuph9zy.jpg) of town) not those with monuments or independent buildings, and it looks like any other Iranian city, not anything special.

We already had a thread abt this, can't find it anymore though so nvmnd.

Anyway, Nice pics.

same here.i have a classmate in tabriz university which is from sanandaj.he told me: they aren't doing good for kurd places.the center is sanandaj but if u see sanandaj city you would be like "is THIS sanandaj?" -surprised from how poor it looks- but it is alot better than i thought.even tho it deserves alot more care.the tree plantings show they are doing some stuff for the city(hopefully)

FreddyB
August 30th, 2010, 12:16 AM
P.S. im starting to believe iran's gov's caring isnt about persian, kurdish or azeri.it cares only about tehran and isfahan and abit shiraz.others are on lower priority.no matter what ethinic they are

iman08
August 30th, 2010, 01:05 AM
^^Believe me, they even don't care at all about Esfahan and Shiraz. Tehran is also more or less the same as the other cities. Just look into the news and the story about the not became budget for the metro of Tehran. They do only what is really neccessary for a city with 12mio population, such as tunnels with that traffic. So also in Tehran, they do just as much as in other cities, just compared with the population of that city.
All in all, it's all the same in all cities, there isn't an issue about citites where other ethnics live or anything else with the people. There are rather other "problems", which I don't want to go deep in that, because it would change the direction of this thread....

FreddyB
August 30th, 2010, 01:12 AM
thats right.every iranian city is like a jewel.deserves more attention.they have low budget for the cities i mentioned but that low budget is mainly spent for them.atleast in advertising,no city is being advertised as much as isfahan, idk if u live in iran but if u do u could feel what im saying about advertisment

iman08
August 30th, 2010, 01:18 AM
^^advertisement yes (and Esfahan because of the islamic architecture over all...not because of any ethnical issues!), but in general they don't give a **** to all cities. And Esfahan the least! I don't know whether you've been to Esfahan or not in recent times. You don't see any new buildings. Just half of the city has private built 2-floor houses. That's all! When I look at the Tabriz pictures and "skyline!" it's really developed!
I think throughout all the cities in Iran (the bigger ones), Esfahan is the most underdeveloped one! Although it deserves much better things!

SoroushPersepolisi
August 30th, 2010, 01:21 AM
tall buildings are banned in esfahan

iman08
August 30th, 2010, 01:24 AM
^^yes, I know that. But I mean rather shopping mall's, new hotel's etc. ...just look here in this forum, how many projects are located where... . The least ones are in Esfahan!

Tehran is a different issue. It has the 53rd largest GDP of the world and it's 21st or 20th largest city of the world and it has 14 million residents. you can't compare Tehran with other cities of Iran. but the government is doing nothing good for tehran I think. Tehran as a city that is recognized internationally should be well more developed. it is well developed in northern parts and central parts, but downtown of tehran is not really well-developed.

iman08
August 30th, 2010, 01:30 AM
^^That's exactly what I also said...they do as much for Tehran compared to the number of population as for the other cities.

a statue of a famous woman that lived in sanandaj
her name is "mastoureh ardalan"

im very suprized that she has no hejab and is dress in a very "un islamic, pre islamic iran" type of dress, and surprisingly they made it very clean and the surrounding isnt filled with childish colours etc
im getting worried here lol

in two months the same ppl that put it there would take it off and say its an insult to islam

A while ago they took down a statue in Gilan of some guy who defeated the Mongols when they invaded Iran, because apparently it was also an "Insult to the Imam"
