Yeah, for the last year 4.5m tourists visited Bulgaria and the majority of them on the Black Sea coast. The Bourgas terminal is all ready overcrouded, and with hardly any capacity to handle more passengers. The concession is the only option for its expantion(the state gave the concession for Bourgas and Varna airports to a danish company that manages the Copenhagen airport)but the other two candidates are now disputing this at the High Administrative Court and untill its verdict the concession is stopped.I don't care who the winner will be as long as it is a credible company that will invest and expand the terminal.

^^?

Sofia airport too had a big increase in the number of passengers .From 1.57m in 2004 to 1.95m last year-that's up by nearly 25%-not bad at all :wink2:.It'll easily pass the 2m mark in 2006,and if the gowth continues in the next 5-6 years(I doubt it will be with 25% every year, but lets say with 15-17%)-in 2012 it will service 3.5-3,7m.

wow, I didn't expect to see the Burgas airport to have such a high number of passengers!
Even with the touristic boom, I didn't think Bulgaria would have two airports closing in on the 2 million mark

Wizz Air, the first no-frills carrier to enter the Bulgarian market, has carried 17,000 passengers since it started flights from the Bulgarian capital at the end of September 2005

I think it's a mistake cos they say total passenger -5m-Sofia-2,Bourgas-1.6 and Varna-400k hmm this total is 4m,where did those 1m passengers landed ,so i think for Varna-1.4m.But this is a surprise for me, I tought Varna had more passengers than Bourgas.
