The company has floated its first JV outside country in Bahrain with the local partner. The new company Almoayyed WLL, a 50:50 partnership with Simplex and Almoayyed Group (one of the largest business houses of Bahrain), would have a paid up equity capital of Rs60mn.

They already finished the foundation works for this project. The whole project might take more than a year to finish... I wonder though why didnt they start on it before. The article above dates from 2004 if I am not mistaken??

Some rather surprising progress, I have to say...

Well, yes work here was tooo slow to START. But, once it started it is firing up like a rocket (knock wood ;)) almost 4 new floors since October (which is slower than Burj Dubai in Dubai) but good enough here in DOHA.. LOooL! :P

Well, I think that eventually there will be some kind of pattern in that area with Four Seasons, Mirgab Towers and Ritaj Al Rayyan which all have the same classic style and have domes in common...but this West Bay area is for sure developped in a very heterogeneous manner!

The lights were on a while back!

While passing by on a boat I also noticed that the beach side is ready... definitely there has been some progress! There is a separate building there as well so maybe a restaurant or beach club...something like that :)

the hotel is compleatly ready and they are only waitting for the licenses as my close friend told me they did not meet all the requirements and conditions of the safety, fire and other things as they are contrary to some of the conditions... but who knows as soon as they fix and finish all the paper they can have the commercial license to run the hotel

I live in Regency tower, floor 20, which looks down onto the Hilton; I see the building next to the main hotel is going to be a Trader Vics Bar... hooray!!!

Noticed the LED lights are also active in the upper floor area for Traders last night... looked great.

You can also see they are adding to the beach line, tons of sand been delivered the last few weeks. Looks as if most of the fitout is complete.. I have a great view from my apartment on the 20th floor, can sit on my Balcony and watch all the activity. Defiantly in full swing construction and fitout wise… not sure about the February opening to be honest, looks too far away, mind, hope it’s true they will open in February because you cannot beat cocktails in Trader Vics.

i wonder about the constructions below, do we have a thread or renders for it?

Not sure what the construction work is below the Hilton, will check it out this weekend and update you all. Will try to take some everning shots of the Hilton this week, the curtain wall lighting is very cool, changes colour often.. will take some pictures and post them on here.

Looking at the Hilton Rooms form my place it looks as if the Soft Furnishings are now in place... curtains and blinds etc... most of the remaining work looks like landscaping and fit out of Trader Vics, the main hotel looks complete..

Will try my luck and take a walk across at the weekend and try for some shots of the lobby area..

Its quite ironic it took Dubai to less time to build Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and the Adress than to build this hotel. :)

I would love to know why it has taken so long, the has to be a good story behind this ongoing farce.
Many rumors but it’s all smoke and mirrors, cost the Hilton group a lot of wasted time and money, will take them years to earn that lost revenue back. I guess they will look long and hard at further investment in Doha in the future or check the design in more detail. If this is all down to permit issues then that is a worry for anyone looking to invest in further hotel infrastructure projects. We can on guess at the reasons for the time delay. Any way looks like everything is moving towards a successful opening.

Staff members on site today in their Hilton Uniforms... must be getting ready for a soft opening...
