Futuristic park for west London

Residents are being asked to dig deep to help fund a £5.5m futuristic park in west London.

The 18.5 hectare (45 acre) space named Northala Fields in Ealing will have a fish pond and an amphitheatre for public events.

The park's most dramatic feature will be four giant conical mounds designed as a shield from the noise and pollution from the nearby A40.

Money raised will go towards building play and educational facilities.

A visitor centre and a cycle bridge are also planned for the site, which Ealing Council hopes will include "elements of biodiversity, renewable energy and land art".

looks good, although I don't see anything futuristic about it :|

^^^ It'll be built in the future, therefore it's "futuristic".

otherwise a case of media artistic license in action ;)

It looks uncannily similar to those celtic mounds you find across the West Country

Just to say that this is well under construction now. I'll try and get some photos when I next go past it.

Worth checking out the site of the practise behind this as well who have done all sorts of things from Picadilly Gardens in Manchester to the lighting scheme on 1CW:

Looks like landscaped slag heaps from an old coal mine. Bringing Barnsley to West London.

Barbarella? I like them, adds some adventure into what could be a rather boring piece or urban grassland
